"The small onboard motor will recharge the battery or it can be recharged from ANY mains electric outlet.There are other possibilities too including a solar array in the roof as has been said or an array on the parcel shelf at the back of the car. I would suggest to VOLVO though that they have the mains electric cable going the wrong way for many locations - it should be possible to also run the cable from the car to an electric socket (like a vacuum cleaner)."
