Knight Rider and Airwolf were my (younger) brother's favourite shows. Around the time you were born I was watching 'The Professionals', in which the two main characters Body and Doyle, took every opportunity to hoon in all sorts of cars... Escorts, TR7s, Granadas, Triumph Dolomite Sprints, the list goes on and on. Granted, none of them had whooshing sounds or even turbos, but all of them appeared to go faster in every gear than any other car on the road.
And prior to that I got a healthy dollop of hoonage now and again when I was allowed to stay up and watch 'Starsky and Hutch'.
Oh the memories! :)

Good luck in your new job, Ash. You will be missed here if your new IT people won't let you fritter away some "spare" time on Jalopnik. Nobody can hope to fill your commenter shoes, so make sure to at least stop by from time to time to show the young 'uns how it's supposed to be done.
What year is your Saturn, and how much? I am currently entertaining the notion of buying a parts car for mine. They are easy enough to work on, but letting it sit in the dealer shop awaiting parts is a pain in the ass.
