I had a 2008 Escape as a company car. I LOVED long hauls in that thing.
I'm way more R/C obsessed than is healthy, and even I have to admit this is too much. On the other hand, he has some seriously nice equipment, and apparently deep pockets because those loaders run $5000-$7000 fully equipped, and those trucks are probably running him $800 - $2000 each fully equipped.

That's exactly what happened here. It's a known issue on 3800s from certain years. I've owned 4 of them, but been fortunate to avoid this little surprise.
This is actually due to a leaky fuel pressure regulator. It seeps while the car is off, then when you turn the key.. BOOM.

I never want to own a car where one of the modes of failure causes "the car drifts to the right and when Rock tries to compensate the steering stops working altogether." I'll stick with my boring hydraulic assist and no stability control or active steering, thank you very damn much.
I'd really like a Vantage V8, but I don't think I can pull the credit together for that. This I could buy this weekend if I knew I didn't have to plan for the future.
