But probably my favorite part of the museum, with the most significant meaning: the BMW 700. The car that sold so well, BMW's shareholders blocked an acquisition by Daimler-Benz in 1959, and opened the door for the Neue Klasse.
In a different part of the museum:
M1
M635CSi
E28 M5
E30 M3
M Roadster
E46 M3 CSL
Here's an idea: simulcast Super-GT.
"Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra!"
@orbit: Of course not; we can't ever record anything a law enforcement officer does, ever. The F.O.P. would go insane with rage.
@EvilPaul: The LFA's transmission is an computer-actuated H-pattern rear-mounted 6-speed transmission, and the driveshaft is mounted relatively high in the center tunnel. Given the car's design, I think it's as close to the manual transmission experience as one could get while having only two pedals on the floor.

I felt good about this, considering that I used to think the number was 5%.

The barrier of entry to a manual transmission car in the US is pretty high, considering that many driving schools don't accomodate for them (when I took my driving test, it was impossible for me to use a manual transmission car for the test because the passenger side didn't have a way to press down the clutch pedal; I had to take it in the driving school's Plymouth Acclaim with passenger-side brake pedal), and anyone who already has a driver's license, but wants to buy a new car in manual transmission is stuck having their friends let them learn on their car (like this: [www.youtube.com] ).

I also see that BMW is taking out manual transmissions from a number of their engine options (335d, 550i, 535d), sometimes with the excuse of "there's too much torque for a manual transmission". My response to that weak argument is best expressed here: [jalopnik.com]
@Fast_Nel: That's exactly what was running through my head on first viewing the picture.
I missed the original question article, but it made me think of this: [en.wikipedia.org]

'When he sees the scrapped body of a midnight blue Fairlady Z (S30) in the junkyard, he remembers seeing this car a few years ago with a nice girl in the passenger seat. Intrigued as to why such a classic Japanese performance vehicle is about to be junked, he convinces the junkyard owner to sell it to him. The junkyard owner was told by the previous owner to scrap the car because it is cursed. He soon finds that the car is unnaturally fast due to a tuned L28 engine, bored and stroked to 3.1 L and fitted with twin turbos. He also finds that one of the car's previous owners shares his first and last name, and had died in a horrible crash on the Wangan. Every person who takes possession of the Z ends up spinning out of control and crashing, as if the car is rebelling against its driver. This gives the blue Z the nickname "The Devil Z".'
The Bangle Trifecta of the E90, E60, and E65 was already covered, but I'll throw in the E63/E64 6 series, whether you consider it a successor to the 8 series, or to the E24 6 series.
@Renesis 3:16: I'm pretty sure that's a Photoshop of the FT-86 body with a 2nd-gen tC nose on the front. Shame on Hardigree for not posting credits on the article picture.
Are they sure about "2.5L boxer" (potentially the Subaru FB25, which was announced as an upcoming engine), and not the 2.5L 2AR-FE (currently the base engine in the RAV4 and Camry, and the engine in the AGT20 tC)? The FB25 apparently makes 170 HP and 174 lb-ft, while the 2AR-FE makes 180 HP and 173 lb-ft. Both figures are without D4-S, which is what the original FT-86 was slated to have in a 2.0L Subaru boxer.
@spacewanderer: That's because the Soyuz program started in 1966, and is still in use today. [en.wikipedia.org]
@Jonathan W. Acheson: 4 test launches, all 4 failures. The second one fell back down to earth and created a massive explosion that destroyed the launch pad. [en.wikipedia.org]
@Leo_Nidas: There are no red WRX STI's, unless you paint one. You may be thinking of blue with gold BBS wheels.
Early 2000's Cadillac fake dual-twin exhausts, which are just single pipes with a Y-tip.
