As a professional actor I think the choice to use a Mustang is not a good one. The writing in the new Night Rider will have to differ from the first Night Rider. The first night Rider was a Pontiac and not a Retro/Modern design. The writing will have to change in the scripts with regards to comments and dialog about the car itself. Whoever talks about the car they have to speek about it as it is. A retro/modern design Mustang. This will differ from the first Night Rider episodes. Obviously they wanted the new KITT to be modeled after the highest saleing American made car at the time. The Mustange. They probably where thinking that (everyone has baught the car so they will like a KITT like the one they baught). I think they should have used a Pontiac Car as well. Its like the movies "The Cronicles of Narnia" and "The Bridge to Tarabithia". They have the same basic story line but a little bit different writing. But they are different movies some what. 1980's Night rider, 2007 Night Rider. Different some what. Not the same show.
