No Toyota (other than the Seven) has ever gotten my flag waving, so it's hardly a surprise that the new Prius hasn't exactly set my loins afire. That said, the new design doesn't seem to have been 100% dictated by Ed Begley, Jr., so that's a point in its favor.

Two of the cities I've lived in have benefited greatly from the destruction of elevated roadways: Boston and San Francisco. Boston's replacement, The O'Neil Tunnel, was obviously a boondoggle, but replacing San Francisco's Embarcadero Freeway with a nice surface street proves the point that an old highway need not be replaced with a new one.

Bugger, I wish I had tipped you guys about that wagon--I was looking at it last night and thinking the same thing. Frankly, the interior looks a little too well worn for a $38k 20 year old wagon, AMG or not. Lower the price and I could get over it.

Didn't Ford do a concept Bronco with a 2.0 four cylinder diesel a while back? Small, rugged, torquey, relatively fuel efficient: now would be the perfect time to put it into production. As much as I love my Wrangler, I'd be all over a reborn Bronco.

I'd imagine most manufacturers recognize their vested interest in making a safe automobile, even if Ford was a little late in realizing same. In as such, I doubt there's much chance of any new car (save for those with "Made in China" labels on them) failing to protect its occupants to at least an average degree.
