Should this Mercedes C180 Wagon be Down On The (NYC) Street?

@P161911: There's at least one precedent -- Okinawa (Japan) in 1978. They presumably went from left-to-right in 1945 after WW II, leaving interim Okinawans seeking JDM mods for Toyopets and early Skylines.
@CPO Alfisted: I hear the station over at Mordor is pretty gloomy as well.
Stupid twitpic, full-size pic here.
Meanwhile, in Oakland...

@jasper911: Malaise-bumpered Berlina... like this one?

Skip the clutch job, it'll be fine! Just avoid coming to a full stop.

@seoultrain: +1 to Bridgestone for "Professional driver on closed road. Do not attempt."
@SCROGGZILLA RAIDS COMMAS!!: A 4.5, no less. At least no 535is' were harmed in filming.

Me, I'll take the Merc W108. The 4.5L will do fine, thanks.

@All_Thumbs: ... or to any number of fine Giugiaro-designed examples. A 1986 Excel, perhaps?
@BЯдΖǐL-ЯЄРΘЯΤЄЯ - Why drive when you can ride?: It's a Toyota 1JZ-GT, apparently. Their site says 400ps, squealing sidekick sold separately.
Incessant scratching notwithstanding I still dug the fine cameo appearances by Lancia Stratos and Datsun S30.
@rognbrow: Sure. It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Not the best-handling Pininfarina-designed vehicle, but quite good aerodynamics at speed:

@Markstre302: Underwear it is. Hard to tell if new or pre-worn & tangy.
@brianddd: Which is why I'd always hesitated about owning an open 356. What a bummer when everyone just figures your sorted-out ride is a replica.
