Here is the full list of cars converted by Straman (circa 1991). They also converted the '90-91 Dodge Stealth & Mitsubishi 3000GT, the '98-99 VW Beetle and the '90-91 Nissan 300ZX as well as several Ferrari models in the '90s. In addition to convertible conversions, they also were considered one of the country's top Ferrari restorers.
@Hofmeister_kink: I still own and drive a '81 Datsun 810 Maxima. It has been a fantastic car for the last 12 years....and counting (though rust is consuming it now).
@CraigSu: The convertible was a Honda dealer option done by Straman Coach in Costa Mesa, CA. I have the original Honda window sticker that confirms the car was sold new as a convertible. Several hundred were built from '84-'87 and most were sold new at the Honda dealer. It is a dealer option, not a factory Honda option.
Though I have owned cars for 25 years, I still own my 3rd, 4th & 5th cars. 1. '78 TBird ('86-'89) 2. '84 Civic DX 3dr ('89-'99) 3. '81 Datsun 810 Maxima ('99-) 4. '60 DeSoto Adventurer ('97-) 5. '86 CRX convertible ('05-)
Of those five, each had/have a special place in my heart. All were great at something. "Best" might actually mean "best memories".
Maybe the reason I have never had a "best" car is because I have never spent more than $2500 for a car. Better cars usually cost more.
