My first project was a '72 240Z. (not the one above) I had a '73 as well. After spending way too much time and money on them I decided that besides being historically cool 240Zs aren't really all as great to drive as everyone thinks they are. I sold them and bought a Miata to learn autocross which was really great to drive.
Nice! I stand corrected. Maybe it was sunshine yellow and I was eating a grapefruit when I found the paint code...... Either way I love that color and they are great cars. I had a '72 & '73. Enjoy.
I think that is actually called grapefruit yellow. I had a '72 240Z that was that color originally but someone painted it what I like to call "stoner blue." I repainted it yellow.
Since BMW's Imola red is already posted I will lobby for Audi's version, Amulet red. I had a '02 A4 that was Amulet and people were always telling me how gorgeous that red was. It was a short lived color then they went back to the less interesting red they currently have. I think it's called yawn red or something....
Hey, that's my back yard-ish. Oregon Raceway Park is an hour from my house. There are amazing roads all over this area. If you decide to come check them out keep in mind that the roads are narrow and often chip sealed. The weekends and summer bring motorhomes, Harley clubs who like to cruise really slow and don't care if you want to pass and the occasional white SUV with the funny flashing lights. Watch out for school busses around 4-5pm and respect the farmers.
Here is a little vid I did of a lap around ORP if anyone is curious. It's a really fun and challenging track. [vimeo.com]
