<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on At 661 HP, The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Is A Very Magic Woman]]> @jhaber:

This is the reason why Mercedes-Benz hasn't built a car I like since the early nineties.

@Adam:

They do make it, but only the roadster as far as I know.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Ford Fiesta Engine Specs Announced, Top-Of-The-Line Duratec Hits 118 HP]]> I like it. What doesn't make sense is why it's about a second slower to sixty than a Honda Fit, which has about the same amount of power as the high-end Duratec.

Oh, and that may be the longest press release I have ever seen.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Volkswagen Releases Armored Truck For South American Drug Lords]]> @ShantJ:
Oh, and first!

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Volkswagen Releases Armored Truck For South American Drug Lords]]> interesting...

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart]]> What the hell is Mitsubishi thinking by giving an automatic only?! Don't give me the torque converter argument; it is an automatic! While it may not be pretty the Impreza has my heart in the generation of the Lancer/Impreza battle.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on How Important Is Crash Test Performance To You?]]> Not much at all. All "safety" equipment does is way a car down. Why are airbags mandatory if they are supplemental? Oh, and is it illegal for a car's owner to remove them?

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on America, Truck Yeah!]]> umm... sushi isn't American... oh, damn it. now I want sushi! Curse you Wert!!!

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Uday Is Gone, But Baghdad Car Freaks Still Have It Rough]]> Though I rspect their entusiasm, the M3 damn-near made me puke. Black and yellow leather interior?! Oh, and the Probe driver seems to think he drives a Lancia (Martini Racing logo).

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Top Ten American Automotive Pilgrimages]]> Um... as far as I know, Jay Leno's garage is at a location named "Big Dog Garage" or something like that and it's located in Burbank.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Americans Want Hybrids As Long As They Don't Cost Nuthin']]> The only hybrid I have EVER considered is the Honda Insight due to the availabilty of a manual transmission. I like diesels, but small gasoline cars are my forte.

Now, if only Suzuki, Daihastu, et al. would start selling kei jidosha here!

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Porsche 911 Faster Around The 'Ring, Still Not As Fast As The GT-R]]> WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!????? Damn it Porsche! Why must you offer a damn automatic???!!! I never tought Porsche would succumb and fall down to Ferrari's and Lamborghini's level. At least stick is still standard...

I pray that such a sick fate never befalls the Viper and Corvette (spawn of Satan base Corvette not included).

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Why Aren't All Small Cars Selling?]]> I personally DESPISE large cars with a passion. I cannot see myself buying anything larger than a subcompact. If it has good quality and delivers good mileage, I'll consider it. It need not have fancy equipment. I'd like my car to be as minimalistic and lightweight as possible.

That is where keijidosha come in. Why no one imports them here I may never know. If there was one sold here with a manual transmission, I'd go out and buy one. Too bad the Suzuki Cervo is CVT only... If it came in stick, I'd love one in Violet. It's one of the few non-pimpmobile cars that actually look good in purple.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Will America Buy The Cars That Jalopnik Wants?]]> Oh, and manual transmissions are a requisite. Anyone who asks for an automatic Copen can go stick it elsewhere.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Will America Buy The Cars That Jalopnik Wants?]]> Oh how I adore eccentric cars. Most Americans don't, but these are cars that have soul, unlike Camrys which are right down there with Maytag.

I would kill for a new keijidosha (kei car). There haven't been any sold here since the Honda Z600 of the early '70s, as far as I know.

I wonder what it would take to get Toyota to bring the Daihatsu Copen here?

<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe Caught In NYC Filming...Something]]> GAH!!! Why aren't Renaults sold here?! I sat in a Laguna sedan a few years ago and it was really nice. My dad seemeed to think clutch motion was good too.

<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Does Mazda Have a 256hp MX-5 in the Works?]]> *Solstice! Curse you Gawker Media for your lack of an edit button! lol

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Does Mazda Have a 256hp MX-5 in the Works?]]> I can't wait for this! GM did essentially the same thing with the Cobalt/HHR SS and the Solstise GXP/Sky Redline. I'm sure the 2.3 could be reconfigured for RWD duty, but I'm not sure how weight balance would be affected.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Dodge Challenger Races Honda Civic SI At Drag Strip]]> Are they for sale yet? I saw an orange one today.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2008 Suzuki Swift: Around The Block]]> I was hoping for this car to come here, but I already bought a Scion xD. Regardless, I would have been forced to get a f&*(ing slushbox on that too.

<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 1963 Corvette-Inspired Speedboat Takes Retro To Sea]]> Wow... I'm not a boat guy but I love it! I really wouldn't mind t-tops on it for a more "boat-like" feeling to it.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Hot Rod Citroen DS Packs A Familiar Punch]]> Though I like the idea of a V8 DS, the sheer stupidity of an automatic baffles me.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Ferrari California, Revealed!]]> God damn it! It had better come with a true manual transmission as an option. I don't really care for the top at all.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Commenter Of The Day: Wert Returns Edition]]> Can someone please explain to me the dragon joke. I haven't been here too long but I always see dragons being mentioned. The picture up there kind of gives me an idea...

<![CDATA[ShantJ commented]]> This particular model is seriously and fundamentally flawed, seeing as how a pedal is missing.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2009 Mazda6 Unveiled For North America]]> @DieterX:

This is a sad reality... However, the Nissan Altima has a standard six-speed with the V6.

I may be rather chunky, but I know the meaning of driving pleasure. I DESPISE automatics. I drive one ONLY because the car was for free from my dad. Months of arguing did nothing for my case. =(

In any case, I'll dump the car on my sister in two or three years and get myself something nice. Perhaps a Hyundai Genesis is in order...

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2010 Peugeot 308 RC Z Gets Green Light, Seems Happy About it]]> So, why isn't Peugeot in the U.S.?

There are plenty of companies I'd like to see back on our shores, and some new ones:

Citroen
Daihatsu
Fiat
Lancia
Peugeot
Renault
SEAT - Sold in Mexico so why not here?
Skoda

Perhaps Alfa Romeo coming here will help set these guys into motion.

Wow... couldn't have said it myself. The car is interesting though. Sort of reminds me of a Porscge 959.

<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Volkswagen Builds 300 HP Scirocco For Nürburgring 24-Hour Race]]> @rexplex:

Yes, and we don';t have the S3 because it might hurt R32 sales. The only place you can get one in North America is in Mexico. In any case, it's not like I'd buy an R32. BTW, why is it DSG only?

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, Reviewed]]> @Adamskiy:

The world may never know... Same goes for the 300, Charger, Magnum and Grand Cherokee.

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented]]> @Bumblebee:

I agree, but I'm not digging the vinyl top. Why in God's name does the SRT-8 offer an automatic?

]]>
<![CDATA[ShantJ commented on Ford Transit Connect Official For US Market]]> @glasseye46:

Oh, how nice that would be... Alas, most Americans seemingly don't have left legs, do they?

Regardless, I wouldn't buy one since it's made in Turkey.

I sooooo agree. I relly want to import a Beat in a few year. Worst comes to worst, I could probably have it licensed with my family in Canada.
