Reminds me of that crash test between the little Renault Modus and a Volvo 940, done by the Fifth Gear team:

I don't think so. European people spending so much money will prefer to buy a german car.

@j6r: Andwhat about the 407 coupe?

@TurboBrick: You can get a used 406 with the 3L engine for less than 10000€ today. The successor of the 406 coupé is the 407coupé. But the next big one will be the 307RCZ. Check this out: [news-images.caradisiac.com]

<![CDATA[Meg2.0T commented on Gas Prices Reach $3.831 Per Gallon Average, Are You Traveling This Weekend?]]> Please face the reality: gas is cheap in the US. In France, I'm paying 1,5€ per liter of unleaded 98, this makes nearly 9$ per gallon...

However, with my Renault Megane 2004 4Cylinder 2.0L Turbo engine of 165HP, I reach about 600km with 50L (375 miles for 13,2 gallons), so that makes about 0.125 euro for one kilometer (0.32 US$ for one mile).
If I had the Diesel version, that number would fall to 0.08 euro per kilometer.

<![CDATA[Meg2.0T commented on Gas Is $5.40 Per Gallon On The Cali Coast, We Cry]]> In Europe, prices are very variable: we generally pay 1.4€ per liter in france for unleaded 95, and during my holidays last week, I paid 1.15€ in Luxembourg and 1.56€ in Holland!

Not many MI16 but a lot of Turbo-Diesel with dark smoke coming out of their exhausts... However, the MI16 engine makes a perfect replacement engine for any rusty 205 to hoon around!!!

?? That seems to be an automatic translation. Please choose another translator, this one is not so good.

By the way, the Peugeot 504 were always known as being reliable here in France. May be its the automatic transmission and the double lens of the front lights that has such negative effect on the car...

<![CDATA[Meg2.0T commented on Were The 80s More Fun In A Renault 5?]]> The Alpine Turbo models were also very interesting versions with the Garret T3 turbocharged 1.4L engine giving 110hp on the (very nice looking alloy) front wheels. <![CDATA[Meg2.0T commented on So You Want To Buy A Citroen SM...]]> Really, I don't understand why people here are so creazy about french cars. I'm french and living in France, and I'm crazy about US cars... and people around me don't understand why ;-)
However I have to admit that the SM is definitely a great car. Like many others: Alpine A110, 2CV, Mehari, Matra Rancho, Bagheera, Simca Rally 2, Renault 5 Turbo, ...

The 1200 was a nice coupé designed by Bertone some years before the 1100 in the early 60s and based on the Simca 1000 platform, and the 1204 did not exist on this side of the Atlantic...
