I am almost certainly the least of the people who could say this, but those of us who knew him at in college, when he wrote for the Daily Cardinal, knew him as the nicest, most upbeat guy possible. His phenomenal talent was obviously unapproachable even then, but Anthony himself couldn't have been more open and genuine. It showed, too, in his compassionate writing.

I also wouldn't be a very good ex-Cardinalista if I didn't huffily point out—as Shadid himself probably wouldn't have—that he earned two Pulitzers.

Promoting, because there's always one. And God bless 'em.
Well, hello! Hope you're well.
There will also be corn.
...Do I know you? And yes, you're absolutely right.
It isn't half as complicated as football.
Yah, that Alfa was beautiful, wasn't it? Sigh.
"In the meantime, people who are really worried about the Mayan calendar coming true should buy a Silverado right away."

See, if I was Mike Levine, I'd concentrate on this line right here. "Gullible? Easily swayed by hype and hysteria? Borderline moronic? GM has a truck for you." Or some more marketing-friendly version.

Edit to add: Not that I'd dream of telling Mr. Levine his business. He's one of the good ones—JK

Oh, no... This is relevant to my interests.
Beats the tar out of "Dixie."
How d'you know what I'd do? Ask me about our new Australian Camaro.
To me? The RS6 (and R8 5.2) aren't really German, no. I'm not sure whether the Pagani Zonda is from Saudi Arabia or Dubai.
Uh, Andy Rooney did what he did to stand up for our right to do... this.
I fully admit that, in my mindset, the car must be as completely native to a country as possible to be considered that country's car. The S70-2 was a clean sheet design, used nowhere but on the F1... and Bavarian, as its cam covers proudly stated.

(And for the record, I know we're probably pretty deep into No-True-Scotsman territory here, and that this isn't an inherently logical argument. We're both as correct as we need to be.)

True, but I submit that the engine issue makes the admittedly phenomenal McLaren a great British design, not a great British car.
Which British company made the engine again?

I'm guessing just to hear guys say "Hey, I've never had Two Women."
That's just racing. Are we going to pretend NASCAR doesn't change the rules every time a Wisconsin driver wins the Cup?
But in all seriousness, it's kind of hard to have sympathy for Robbie Gordon...
