<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on 2010 Chevy Camaro SS Badge Officially Revealed, Unofficially]]> Please stop calling Camaros, Mustangs, and Cuda/Challengers Muscle cars.

They are Pony cars, not sports cars or muscle cars, there is a difference. Muscle cars are large American 2 door cars with big engines made from 1964-1972 (some 73's and some South African and Aussie cars) Pony cars are midsized American cars with sporty intentions often offered with large engines made from 1964.5 - 197? <![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on What Is The One "Delete Option" Check Box You Most Want?]]> Sunroof delete option - on BMW cars with the bigger engines... Losing that 80 pounds way above the CG is way worth it, plus at 6'4 makes it easier to drive with a helmet on...

Why does BMW insist on making the sunroof standard on the big engined cars like the 335 and e46 m3... No dealer ever checks the sunroof delete option...

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on The 2008 BMW M3 Is So Good I Could Drive It With My Eyes Closed]]> As for maintenance the e46 M3 is a top used car choice by Consumer Reports, I have had no issues with my 2004, Most e46 owners budget 1k a year for service and tires. Yes we have a required service at 25k miles that costs 1,200 to 1,600.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on Which Is The 2009 Porsche 911 Interior?]]> I agree with the z4 z3 comments, the newer the bmw the more plain teh interior. the z3 is great, the z4 is plain. The e46 is kinda plain and the e90/92 is a desert wasteland on the inside.

Although that being said the Z4m coupe is amazing looking outside, and prove Bangle can do one thing right.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on 2009 Cadillac CTS-V Specs Made Official, Gets 556 HP]]> I have sat in the New CTS and found there was no problem being 6'4 while driving.

As for these numbers... For the love of god and all that is holy! Who cares if it can turn or not, it will eat anything on the straights and out of the hole. Although the CTS platform is pretty good (except the steering feel), although to save $ and keep the price down, I am going to bet the suspension will be a weak spot on this car.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on You Do Know The R35 Is On Sale, Right?]]> That pic was taken a few weeks ago at the Stillen show in Costa Mesa at Steve Millen's shop. Let me tell you that car looks even worse in person, the quality of that kit is horrendous. Color and panel mismatches everywhere.

It was made even worse by the actual GTR located about 50 feet away.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on What's The Proper Orientation Of Manumatics?]]> Steptronic or what ever manumatics are like kissing your sister and have little use IMHO.

Now SMG and DSG are totally different driving one of these is not like a manmatic slush box at all, and in many ways is a revelation once you get used to them. The control of a manual but faster shift times and no clutch to worry about, there is a reason that F1 cars have these.

I personally drive an M3 with the SMG, and have driven the Audi DSG and played with the Ferrari setups. Pull back should upshift, push forward should be downshift, nuff said. If I am hard breaking I want to be able to downshift, and not accidentally force an upshift.

I think the backwards orientation came from the automatics that had a d3 mode or sport mode that you got from pulling back which in at least Hondas would force a downshift on an automatic.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on Haltech-Tuned 2009 Nissan GT-R Gives A Down Under Strip Show, Bests Inside Line's Quarter-Mile]]> Drag cars and road cars are completely different, I am not sure why the US has this fascination about the 1/4 mile, and heck I am from the home of the Quarter mile, Orange County CA, Look it up, NHRA started here.

Sure a lightweight chevell can turn a fast quarter with no turbos and a small block, but look at what else is going on with that car. 12.5 inch wide drag slicks for sure from the same source you used and I would lay money down that alot of that cars body is fiberglass and the total cost of that car with his mods is over 100k spent which is more then a GTR. But would this car be fun or easy to go pick up groceries? Or hit the correct line on a racetrack, or even be able turn with those 4 inch wide front tires?

Hell if I put drag slicks on my e46 M3 I can shave about .5 a sec and pull 12.5 quarter all day long with no lightweight mods and that is only 333hp at the crank. drop another few pounds by gutting the interior and carbon fiber high 11.s are possible. But is that the point of the car? No the point is a well rounded driving machine that can turn and be comfortable on the road and on a racetrack.

Look at P cars the 911's are not fast to 60 or in the quarter, the Cayman S o-60 time is what like 5.1 on a good day? but that car will beat any piece of American iron that is faster in a straight line on a track all day long.

<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on PCH, Fun With Honda Engines Edition: NSX-Powered Legend or Turbo Civic?]]> the sterlings where identical mechanically with the legends in the US market, there where some other engines available in Europe.

As for the Vigor it was an inline 5 that I am pretty sure was mounted transverse.

I'm talking with the guy via email, he was told it was an NSX engine, he did not do the swap... SO pretty much it is a c32a1 block, not a c32b.

]]>
<![CDATA[Foo2rama commented on PCH, Fun With Honda Engines Edition: NSX-Powered Legend or Turbo Civic?]]> I call major BS, on the Legend with a c32b engine, and here is why. The c32a1/5 that runs in the legend is longitudinally mounted. front wheel drive. The NSX moter is a transverse mid mount rear wheel drive.

That engine looks like to me a cs32a1 engine or the 200hp version judging from the intake runners and the way everything is aligned on the engine. That is not even a c32a5 or type II block that puts out 230 hp.

Also there is little parts commonality between the c32a and the c32b. The c32a engines where SOHC with a variable intake, the c32b was a completly different bottem end, and the heads where DOHC and VTEC. So this is not a bastard combo of engines, like my Z car with a 75 2.8 block with factory racing heads from a 70 2.4 litre with a crank shaft from a 82 diesel Maxima (This strokes a 2.8 block to 3.2 and fixes the compression with the earlier heads.)

Not like I know anything about this, I was thinking about mid mounting a c32b and rear susp from a wrecked NSX into the trunk of my 95 legend coupe and changing the car to a mid rear setup. FYI it will work, but you are not getting a c32b up front longitudinally just not going to happen.
