Did anyone notice the comment about driving with one hand, and then Hamilton makes shifting movements with his hand? That car had to be shifted by the driver, and that is somewhat foreign to these guys..
I teared up, a very powerful bit of film making for a guy who makes his living working on racecars...
Wait! Three lovelies (with 80's tight shorts) on the hood of a broken car, me with my trunk full of tools (I drove a TR6 or a Big Healey) How would such an opportunity present itself with today's reliable cars..... Old cars rule
@zadtheinhaler: Love the lawn darts, your comment has inspired me, as a fabricator, I have decided to make myself a set of lawn darts..
What could possibly go wrong?
Badass, makes modern racing look sort of sterile and pre-packaged, doesn't it?
Also, I've not heard the music from 'War of the Worlds' for about 15 years.. It was a weird concept album from England, with Jeff Beck and others, never sold that well. Wow, did it bring back some old memories...
Did you feel it? I was minding my own business, drinking my Guinness when it happened. Concentric waves in my pint glass... The world had lurched on its axis.. "Ye gods!" I yelled " an SHO has won LeMons" Silence prevailed, tears were shed....
Caroline talks to you
Softly sometimes
She says
'I love you' and
'Too much'
She doesn't have anything
You want to steal
Well
Nothing you can touch
She waves
She buttons your shirt
The traffic
Is waiting outside
She hands you this coat
She gives you her clothes
These cars collide
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?
@KAR120C: I had a GTA, and it was, GASP!, a decent car. Fast, great mileage and fantastic handling. It won quite a few autocrosses as well. I know Alliances were crap, but they got it right with the GTA. 2 liter motor, lowered ride height, better trans ratios and a modicum of reliability.. Mine never broke, and did survive a couple of horrible accidents at the hands of my extended family... I miss it.
Mazda: A huge discount on parts, great prize money, support. From my point of view, I.E. a racer, not a race-on-TV watcher, Mazda wins hands down. Spending a crap-load of money on one race series to ensure TV coverage makes some sense.. But I don't watch any of that, I'm at a race track 44 weekends a year, racing. Mazda FTW
@Kuro: Yep, the one that we built only weighs a hair more, and the weight is shifted to the REAR... The trans and diff are heavier than the units they replace, the engine is a bit less--Yes, a GM 5.7 V8 weighs less than a Mazda 1.6 4 cylinder..
So, its a little over the LeMons weight limit, I'm going to ask for a waiver, a 4-Merlin engine swap should get it up to 40ish MPH... good enough... LARC FTW!
