<![CDATA[Drujon commented on The Ten Worst Production Car Color Combinations]]> Let's not forget the late 70s Mercury combo of dark blue and chamois (kind of a circus peanut pink/tan) that graced thousands of Cougars, some even with the trunk straps!

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on Seriously Cool Stash Of Saddam-Era Cars Found In Baghdad Underground Garage]]> That '61/'62 Caddy limousine is obviously armored, you can tell by the little window in the dog leg of the wrap-around windshield, kinda hard to form 2 inch thick glass into a compound curve. So whay not ship those rides to Scottsdale and and have a special Baghdad Beauties Barrett-Jackson event with all proceeds going to the Baghdad police academy?

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on The New Chevy Camaro In A Skittles-Like Rainbow Of Colors, What's Your Favorite?]]> It's time the big three started offering a wider choice of colors. In the late 70s early 80s GM offered no less than 14 color options on Cadillacs. I understand the cost implications of offering more than the basic greys, black, and white so why not offer more colors and charge $300 for a "non-standard" color? I know plenty of folks that would pay for a different color.

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on Packard Plant Facade To Hit The Auction Blocks]]> Historic preservation is sadly lacking in most big cities, significant buildings and homes are lost every day. One bright spot in Detroit is the saving of the Cadillac-Book Hotel.

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on Toyota Cancels 2011 Lexus SC, Considers Ditching 2011 Avalon Too]]> That Lexus is among the ugliest cars EVER! RIP!
Dropping the Avalon will just force a percentage of its buyers up into a Lexus ES and the others will just step down to a loaded Camry, makes sense to me.

]]>
<![CDATA[Drujon commented on Are Cars Getting Uglier?]]> Yes! Cars are getting uglier, and some of this ugliness is due to pedestrian-friendly (well maybe not friendly) legislation in Europe. The fronts of cars are higher, thicker and less sculptural because of it. The front of the latest XK is thicker and blunt because a more pointed front end wouldn't pass European car/person crash tests. So we have a Jag with the front grill off of an '02 Taurus.

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on The Skylane Is Cool, But Is It Worth 750 Grand?]]> Meh....the proportions are a little off, the back fender is too large and doesn't gell well with the long sweep of the front fender. The front looks like a '49 Caddy, nothing wrong with that but not very original. It's a nice piece but I'd say 50 grand tops.

<![CDATA[Drujon commented on American Automakers To Continue Limiting Fleet Sales, Koreans To Take Over?]]> It's interesting to see how the cars available for rental have drastically changed over the past 10 years or so. The Avis neighborhood location near me in Austin has VW Passant's, Cadillac CTS', and even the everyday Chevy Impala's are all decked out with leather and a sunroof. Maybe the idea is that when the car goes up for reatil sale it won't scream FORMER RENTAL and retain some actual value....
