VW Golf GTI. Pre Mk III.
So our tenacious Google street view driver passes one car on the left, almost makes a second car, backs off, then cuts two lanes right and passes in the right lane. Lovely.
The lawn furniture confirms suspicions...
@DSLPWR: BUY! Think I'll invest in a keyboarding class...
Lessee, but a new pair of Tata's or upgrade an existing pair. Then there's the issue of ownership, share plan, that whole deal.

I think I'll be responsible and not spend the money either way.

@ReverendDexter: Hear hear! Too true. Amazing the distortion between concept and reality. A few cars made it through relatively unscathed, but the majority do seem veritably skewered.

Where are the fearless manufacturers? Small manufaturers fight for survival. Bigs ones fight for preservation. Better to be poor than be a fat man in the eye of a needle (Sting). Except in the USA, I guess...

Step 1. Bring to USA...
Step 2. Transplant engine to Factory Five Cobra chassis...
Step 3. Enjoy the world's most economically responsible hoonage with classic looks and the new technology... What's not to like?
@JCWhitless - I'm totally Re-Starded:

forever lost in the nethers of archived cyberspace: there go my plans for putting in a Factory Five Cobra...

Further evidence that money can't buy good taste. Wise to remove Comrade Cayman's plate numbers before publishing, lest you find yourself floating face down in the frozen Moscow River waters.
The more people who have the skill to post pictures, the more effective this thread would be. Wish I could contribute here, visually, but in lieu of pics, here's a link:

Go Lalique!

Rolls Royce, Bentley, et al, are nice too.

Dag Nab it. Certainly, I'm not the only one who's noticed the turbodiesel that gets 68mpg (imperial) and gets to 60mph a second faster...

Bring them all to the US!

No Brainer. Significant historical vehicle; one of two pre-war cars in a stratospheric realm of quality and opulence? Yeah, easy choice here.
Obvious Crack Pipe!

You can't pay too much, but you CAN pay too early. In this case, about two decades (give or take, courtesy of our lovely economy).

Always remember, low mileage cars incur the same fiscal challenges as high mileage cars: actually driving it requires reconditioning. Otherwise, it's just a paperweight you ogle.

Lessee...

Hybrid BMW and Aston grill, check.
Corvette fender arches, check.
SL windshield/A pillars, check.
And a major midsection elongation.
Now, who owns those rear wheel arches?! Ferrari?
OK, just about there...

A visual conflict comes with the rear wheel arches; the wheel arch curves' forward point suggests a stocky, short-wheelbase car which obviously, this is NOT. FAIL on account of the continuity error.

Maybe I'm being overly critical, but please change the paint color; it's NOT helping the cause.

Another question: why name a convertible "sunset"? Isn't that like selling a mattress under the name "sunrise?"

This vehicle is of significant future historical significance. Remember, you can't pay too much, but you can pay it too early. And you won't get burned if you decide to pull the trigger now; at $15k, it's short money for what was orignially invested. Just make sure it comes with a Dyson.
102 days to demonstrate viability ("A firm will be deemed viable only if it can show positive cash flow and can fully repay the government loans" -AP).

Odds, anyone?

@goatrope: Late to the game here, but Tire Rack and weatherproof floor mats, too.
