Grammar Troll asks: Only Ferrari's what are allowed to catch fire?
This. My 9000 Aero is insane from about 45 mph and up. I love that car, it makes passing on two lane roads giggle inducing.

Torque steer? Yes, but it's not a big deal. People that complain about torque steer in a powerful FWD either have absolutely no upper body strength or are afraid of driving something slightly crazy.

Well said! This spot was an utter disappointment. I'm left thinking, "What happened that made Matthew/Ferris forced to drive a CR-V?"

This spot would only have a chance at working if the car was something desirable.

Interesting in the bottom photo how the cars are right hand drive even though they're driving on the US-correct side of the road. Also, cable car! I didn't think the NYC cable cars were still around by the early 1900s.
#COTY - That's Comment of the Year. You're a good one. 'click.
Fiat has priced the Abarth at 22K. Some petty track day is included with a gentleman named Richard.

Nice car, it sounds great. He needs to tune out that mid corner oversteer. He's also braking too late for the box slalom, messing up his exit potential.

I'm being a pedant about his driving because I love Se7ens and like to see them reach their full potential. This one is leaving performance on the table.

Where is Tripolis?

Why are you not starred?
When I was selling Alfas, we had a side table made from the cracked block of a 1300 Gt Jr. It was a great selling tool. When describing the added lightness virtues of an aluminum engine. I'd lift the glass table top off and ask Mr. Aspiring Alfisto if he could single-handedly lift the engine block of any of the other sports cars he was considering.
This. The sound a 288 GTO makes as it's driving away from you at WOT is unforgettable.
Yes, a Saab B234R would kick righteous booty in a Miata. That's a great engine with a ton of room for tuning. A B234R Miata would need to be called Mjölnir.
This. must. happen. Plus, it would add another dimension to drunk curling (is there any other kind?) where the ice doesn't just feel like it's moving.

Heart-clickie for the curling reference.
I'm sixth in the Abarth line at my local Fiat studio. I hope we get the cabrio here. Also hope we get a power boost trunk kit. It'll make a fun daily driver.
I don't care if it's a hybrid or not, it's a very handsome car.
Here are some shots of another US spec 500 Abarth.

Me too! I've been seeing them for years in Italy and have thought they'd make a good city car. I test drove a "normal" 500 a couple months ago and found it decent enough. Add a bunch of power and a more sporting suspension and I think it will be a really engaging car.

My wife is already sold. #tips
Look what I found! Photos of a US spec Fiat 500 Abarth! Jalop-dudes, if you share these, please credit FIATALY (on facebook as FIATALY - big Fiat fans).

Word is the Abarth will be available in February of 2012.

Beat me to it! This should be number 1. The Super 7 makes any TV show opening awesome. Just think what Designing Women would have been like if a Super 7 was in the opening credits.
Definitely! I have a 9000 Aero and love it. It has stupifying passing power and wonderful utility.
That looks like Reno Fernley from a couple years ago. I believe it was not Busa powered at that event. Was fun to see and hear though.

I was there in the Peugeot 505 turbo - Pujo! - which comported itself quite well, finishing with just 3rd gear.
