Live blogging a car release? Sounds a little anti-climactic. Eh, I'll go with it.
This woman is brilliant. I can see a female president:

"OMG Let me describe to you what the Prime Minister of France is wearing today."

Women are crazy, even the sensible ones know it. Like genius mothers who go and try to make gun laws without even touching one in their life. BRILLIANT. Its like having the Amish make automobile laws. Seriously, go bake me a pie.

Why so serious??...lets put a smile on that face.
The Mondeo won car of the year with the Subaru Outback last season on Top Gear. It gets my respect, despite being a Ford. Though if they start making quality cars again, people will actually start buying them. Ford must have hired some obscenely expensive consulting firm to come to that decision. Good call.
@Unevolved 8.04: Range under those conditions is about 657ft. 800ft on a downhill. It looks like a bumper car. I bet it acts as an extended crumple-zone for your car should it get between you and someone else.
@beercheck: My wild ass guess doesn't mean I won't take it for a test drive, as I would love nothing more. And sorry for leaving you hanging in COTD, I went to lunch at the time.
What? It doesn't come with a 14 year old girl? Lame.
@tenbeers: Yes, mine is too. However, they feel and handle lighter than they are. My guess is that the Camaro will not.
I think its exterior looks excellent. Easily the nicest American car in several decades. The interior looks like an arcade or video game, not saying its ugly, just saying that a girl might think you are a driving a Xbox. It is kinda heavy, so thats another downside. I would consider trading in my Bimmer for one of these if not for the Dualshock 3 interior and heavy body.
BMW dealerships have great service. Then you get the bill and realize that their labor is 125$/hour. I wanted to put a small wire into my stereo so I could plug my mp3 player in. The part was 40$ and they wanted 280$ for the labor. I bought the part then took it to a local stereo guy, he did it in 20 minutes for 45$.
"After a ten year development cycle, a million man hours of work, and $100 million invested in the project"

That really doesn't seem worth something like that at all. Unless you live on a small island in a bay. My guess is that they will sell millions in Cuba.

@the artist formerly known as dolo54: You're right, I'm not black and I agree that DWB is probably real and is utterly bullshit that there is almost no recourse as citizens. I think that there should be punishment for police officers and compensation for citizens based on situations like that. They wasted 2 hours of your time and you should be compensated for that. You should call a lawyer and file a complaint, there is law in this country and the fucking cops have to follow it as well. Not to mention that you may get some cash out of it. Its also none of the fucking cops business what race your friend was, and they were only asking to see if they could pin a existing arrest warrant on him. Some good rules for cops are: Try to make them laugh and if you can't win them over, don't say anything. A cops job is to build a legal case against you, not to help you prove your innosence.

People shouldn't fear their governments, governments should fear their people.

@Elhigh: First off, if an officer approaches my car with his gun drawn, I will be filing a nice formal complaint with the Police Department along with suing the fucking shit out of that department for unlawful threat of force. An officer can't draw his gun unless he intends to use it or is actually threated. The only way he can legally feel threated is if there is a warrant for the arrest of the person driving the vehicle or the vehicle is stolen. Routine traffic stops don't justify guns drawn, the day it does, we, the people need to stop it. That gestapo shit can't fly in America and we can't let it.

@layabout: Much more likely.

@TexanIdiot25: Flavor enhanced with A.D.D.: Screw you, cocksucker. Take a speed and stick to it. 80 works for me, if you want to go faster I will remove myself from you path as soon as conviently possible.

This kid needs to stop playing with adults. He thinks its a game, and needs to be shown its not. If the neighborhood has a speeding problem like some streets tend to, then they need to do something themselves. Allowing a kid who likes controlling adults to get away with, it is setting this kid up for way too much entitlement. My parents would never let me get away with harassing adults like this, and his shouldn't either.

@Van Sarockin: I don't deride Studebakers. In fact they are an iconic car that represents a special time in American motoring. However, they aren't meant for high-speed performance and are cars that people cruise to be seen in, not drive to whip the pavement. If one gets in front of me in the left lane and doesn't immediately enter the turning lane, I become anti-American.
@BytheSea: Um, I think you'll find when most of this crowd drives for pleasure that they tend to open the throttle butterflies a little wider. I for one take my car on curvy backroads at double the speed limit around the blind curves. We aren't talking about cruising around the block in your Studabaker for the Memorial Day parade. Real drivers love going from A to B with urgency.
@AmaryllisCytisorus: You are the cancer killing Jalopnik...
