I thought "Intrepid ACR, WTF?" (okay, that was the second thing I thought). I spent a few minutes googling it, with google insisting that I mean 'car' not 'acr', before realizing that this guy with "1/2 ton axcels" and "hydrolic steering" probably meant 'car'.
@96Roadmaster: I can find no evidence of this. Wikipedia and musclecarclub.com say there was. Also, I found this listing:
which includes the car's VIN, you can decode that using the reference here:
Yes, it's a '68.
@MJF1975: It will turn out like something that is awesome and never made production?
The Corvette had the second longest continuous production in the US, 29 years before they sat out 1983.
That may be wrong too, but I'm sure the Suburban is the longest and the Wagoneer isn't second.

The longest continuous run on one platform for an American car in foreign markets is the Ford Falcon, the original 1960 model was produced right up until 1991 in Argentina.
@K5ING: It's penis related. Jalopnik does that too now.
Usually commenting on "Jalopnik insists you do something on Facebook!" articles is disabled, so I'll say this here to make up for all the times I can't:
I'm not going to 'follow' this thing because I don't have or want Facebook.
@HowardC: They could have taken it out of the cave anywhere between 1885 and 1955, as long as they put it back.
@RadioFlyer Rides Again: You couldn't upgrade your brakes in GT4 either. They'd let you pay for upgraded brakes, but it had zero effect on anything.
@Psiu! Puxa!: I love your Volvo 240! But I digress: That myth just got dispelled right now, by you.
Nobody ever explained it to me, I just thought there was probably some reason. And if there wasn't, then so what?
@JalopJeff: GT and GTS apply to Canadian cars (like mine). American trim levels don't have any official name, but people refer to them as L-type and P-type (this one) respectively.
The picture of Miss Yowza there is from the Seoul motor show in 2009. Otherwise I'd be all over the 21 hour drive to LA.

@Festering neon distraction: Or "No Fear". Remember No Fear? I loved No Fear, because it told me who to stay away from in High School. (and now you know how old I am to within 3 years)
@CmndrFish: AutoZine says: "What an ugly dinosaur with a long tail! "
I was on a 'car forum' which consisted of about 8 nearly random 'car guys' from anywhere, their girlfriends, and several totally random people. The Texan custom bike builder's (for sporting intention) girlfriend's 'dream car' was the Earnhart edition of that car. Reasoned but vicious condemnation (of the car) flowed freely from everyone except her boyfriend, but we were unable to change her mind.
For no reason, I have attached a picture of her cat.

@RtFusion: Hot Pursuit 2 had Ferraris. Or are we talking about more recent games?
@From a Buick 6: Absolutely! I miss the R33 GT-R sedan. Not kidding.
@Subarufu: The SVX was in GT2. Maybe 'never again' though.
GT2 was awesome, I'd be happy if they just had all those cars in a new game.
@472CID: Total production was five. As far as I can tell, two are in Russia (red and blue) and one is in Switzerland (silver).
@∞Gïmmï∞Mørgäikkøŋëŋ∞: IIRC, homologation for that model was 1. They just had to build it, not sell it, so it just sits in a museum. Same with the Toyota GT-One.
