No taxiways, to boot! Make a u-turn right at the end of the runway.
This is gizmodo. The writers are high school interns, right?
I mean, I see typos like this (or worse) in almost every story here.
Giz is a rag. If you want quality writing, see wired.com.

Even if it isn't the Owens Corning brand Gorilla Glass, it is a very similar tech they're using.
My phone came with a case... it is metal and gorilla glass and was designed by Jony Ive
Maybe it floats in salt water?

Or maybe it floats on ICE! The fish tank used to be frozen solid.

The most effective improvements come at the current bottleneck. For almost everyone, that bottleneck is the actual internet connection. Average around where I live is 1.5-5Mbps. For us, even 802.11b doesn't slow down our internet.

You are correct in the fact that most wireless routers don't transmit at their fully rated speed, especially if you are farther away from it. However, even the real-life speeds of 802.11g and 802.11n are faster than most people's internet connections.

You either have an incredibly fast internet connection at 70Mbps, or you are just transferring files locally on an internal network. Transferring files locally is where you do see big speed differences with network upgrades.

Right on. People are kind of dumb when it comes to networking. They forget all about bottlenecks.

It would be like if someone had a 5.0 liter Mustang that had a fuel line that only let a few drops per minute through. They're not going to make it faster by putting a supercharger on the engine.

Bumping up your wifi to gigabit speeds won't do dick to help your crappy 1.5Mbps DSL.

This isn't big, it is tiny. Look at the power switch. Look at the mini (or micro) USB cable jack. This thing is a couple inches wide at most. Probably closer to 1"
The smoke/liquid nitrogen vapor effects seem really hokey in the viral video. That said, there are things that exist that could achieve the type of locomotion seen in the video. Quantum locked levitation would be the best candidate.
If the Ferrari nose cone/steering wheel mashup was designed just right, the flappy front wing could double as the flappy shifting paddles.

That might redeem it just a microgram.

AeroPress makes the best coffee I've ever had in a home. It is a close second to the "clover" coffee machines. It is cheap and has the benefits of a french press with few of the drawbacks (you're still basically limited to one cup at a time).

Stupid tabbed browsing mistake and no way to delete a post or even an embedded video?
Sorry. This was meant for the QOTD page which was opened in an adjacent tab.

It doesn't come down to just one thing. The GT-R driver could have been a better driver or using the GT-R's launch control. The EVO was carrying a passenger... the GT-R was not. The GT-R may have had some super-sticky tires while the EVO was wearing all-seasons (unlikely, but we just don't know).
It is called PAINTING. No one was surprised when artists pulled this look off with oils on canvas or watercolor on paper. The principles used in this video are very common oil painting techniques, modified for digital medium. The difference is instead of a physical canvas and pigment paints and bristle brushes, this person is using photoshop. Same thing. Different medium.
Mitsubishi Galant? Really?

Does it start without keys or something?
Is it normal to have so many cars parked on the track like that?
The best one I've ever used is MyDefrag (previously known as JKDefrag). [www.mydefrag.com]

You can choose different options... quick defrag, defrag and optimize, and several others. You can create a schedule to run different ones at different times. You can enable a screen saver that defrags and optimizes while you're away from the computer.

And it is free. Donate if you like it (I'm sure you will).
