the real comparison should be at-fault fatal collisions. a minor bump or spin is inevitable for someone learning how to drive, but if you learn from all that extra experience the chart says you're getting you might end up saving lives while racking up fines, repair bills and points. the road rage stat kinda blows this theory out of the water maybe. 45 percent? like almost half of gamers have no control of their emotions while driving? i once drove to work after a marathon GTA session and as i passed a big group of pedestrians on the sidewalk i had a momentary urge to steer onto the sidewalk and hit them all because that's what i'd do in GTA. i'm also aware that i now have a natural instict to drive right off a cliff at high speed because if i land flat the car will be fine like in GTA.
my favorite part of the new layout is that keyboard focus belongs to the article list on the right so when i press the down arrow which, on some other websites, might counterintuitively scroll the page down, new jalopnik selects the next article down and takes me to a whole new page. perfect. no more scrolling down to read the rest of this page you're on, just new pages all the time. it's faster paced. i like it.
i love it when they have way too much steering input, the car is plowing (understeer), but it's taking roughly the right course. but then as the driver unwinds the steering, the front wheels find a bunch of extra traction and the car spins. straightening the wheel can make the car turn more. that and "just a little countersteer... whoops too much"
i believe the "pour gasoline out of a water bottle directly onto your carb" method has been mentioned on jalopnik before. where do you think they got the idea
@Don Fehlio: your car already has roof racks, you said? in that case, on your roof is a good place to look for roof racks. pile those bikes up on the roof, put a bungie or 2 over them and you're all set.
