Actually, I'm surprised it managed to make it through that ford.

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on Cougar Ace Mazdas Face The Crusher, We Cry]]> Do you guys not have recycling laws over there?

I note that wheels were removed pre-crushing (discs and calipers were still present) but I assume the engines/ gearboxes and interiors are all stripped prior to crushing and recycled accordingly?

It was running around with the Cobalts so maybe an attempt to distract from the lack of engine noise?

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on 2011 Lexus LF-A Closeup Video From Nurburgring]]> Saw and heard this last week too.

Didn't know what it was at first and only after doing a little research did we discover it was a Lexus.

Easily the quickest thing round the 'ring the day we were there (week ago today).

]]>
<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on The New Chevy Camaro Can Make A Soundgasmic Video At The Nürburgring Too]]> Saw this at the 'ring last week. Was almost one of the quickest things round there and sounded mighty fine too.

Interestingly Chevy were also hooning around a couple of Cobalts there too and what looked like a last gen Malibu.

]]>
<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on 2011 Lexus LF-A]]> I was at the 'ring last week and was trying to figure out what disguised coupe was that was doing banzai laps of the track.

I'd have never guessed it was a Lexus to be honest. It looked and sounded great and was easily the fastest thing out there.

Also spotted was the Camaro, R8 (v10 possibly) in matt black and an amazingly quick Q7 (probably with v12 TDi).

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on Jay Leno On Top Gear America: I Hope We Don't Ruin It]]> If he is anything like his namesake would you let someone named Corolla host a car show?

Even the TG that you guys get in the States isn't 100% 'True' TG. Clarkson has admitted that the voice overs and some parts of the show are re-edited for BBC America where they remove some British references and tone down some reviews.

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on Hot Hatch Showdown]]> Mini isn't a hatch (as mentioned) so shouldn't be included in the same way that a Sunbeam Lotus wasn't a 'Hot Hatch' which is why the GTI always gets the nod. The Mini Cooper should be in the JFG for its own right as a iconic and fun car not as a Hot Hatch.

I voted for the GTI as it is the first true Hot Hatch although as mentioned already you should really have had the, MKII Golf GTI, 1.9 205 GTI, Integralle, Escort Cosworth, First XR3, Clio Williams 1

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on Ford Transit Connect Taxi Live, Yellow And Clean]]> Already plenty of these as taxis running around the UK. 5 seater with a big boot and wheel chair accessible.
About the same size as a LTI Taxi (also popular are Berlingo and Kangoo alternatives which are more or less the same size).

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on DOTS Geneva: Citroen 2CV]]> Bitchin and in nice condition.

Looks to be a 70's/ early 80's model with the round rather than square headlights. Bumpers and wheels are non standard colours. They were called the 2CV6 in the UK.

Some 2CV's were 4 door saloons with a low opening boot but a hatchback was an optional extra (like mine) for scoring extra points.

JFG contender one day...?

<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on How Jalopnik Is Your Car?]]> @ Vaosie

The 2CV does seem to score well here. How come you managed 310 points thought?

Mine is a 1989 2CV6 so probably not as high scoring as yours.

]]>
<![CDATA[2CVDJ commented on How Jalopnik Is Your Car?]]> Citroen 2CV = 255 points and thats without counting the suspension (can't claim Hydropneumatic Suspension as it doesn't have it) but does have other Citroen trick suspension.

Also, how many points for a dash mounted manual and handbrake?
