We have got to find out more about this incredible six-wheeled Suzuki Samurai posted for sale on Craigslist in Lansing, Michigan. According to the seller, it's diesel-powered and operates with hydrostatic drive so all wheels are powered — somewhat reminiscent of an Argo 6x6. Most guys into off roading will equip their rig with anything from a set of 33" tires for light duty rock crawling to 44" tires for deep mud bogging. Of course everyone has their preferences and guys usually make tire size decisions based on ego as much as utility. Kristjan Kristjansson of Iceland either has a big purpose, or an enormous ego because he's gone ahead and fitted his GMC Suburban with 49" flotation tires. They make sense for playing in Iceland's frozen wonderlands, but we have to wonder how the tire hum has affected the cabin ambiance. More »

Despite its relationship to the Halo Warthog, the Hummer HX made a pretty big splash at the Detroit Auto Show. One of its coolest features is the front-facing camera that's integrated into the rear-view mirror. Throw in a docking slot to record your off-roading adventures directly to an iPod and you've got something quite cool, indeed. Sure, the HX is obviously very conceptual, but this is a feature that doesn't seem too farfetched. Now this is a concept. It's a Daihatsu transporter decked out, Pinzgauer style, as a mountain-bike support vehicle. Unlike other, more bleeding-edge concepts, the Mudmaster-C (awesome name construction, check) is a body-on-frame mini van-roader, with significant ride hight and fat angle of approach by way of a "hub reduction system," which transfers drive power via gears mounted between the driveshaft and wheel hub.
