Most interesting, and seemingly lost in the saved-by-zerogasm, is news of a lower-priced version of the 2009 Nissan Versa Sedan that, at an MSRP of $9,990, will be the cheapest new car in the USA. The folks over at Inside Line have a whopper on their hands, proclaiming that the 2009 Nissan Murano will get a convertible version in 2010 as a 2011 model year vehicle. And not just any weird CUV/SUV convertible: a freaking soft-top four-door convertible. If this rumor is true, we're talking about a vehicle that should perform as awesome as it looks and give you a sunburn at the same time... all for somewhere north of $40,000. The re-styled Nissan Murano also bowed at the auto show this week, though it was slightly overshadowed by its world eating cousin. The new Murano has styling that we're told "imparts a "modern art" feel, but still maintains its "Murano-ness." Are they saying it like that's a good thing? The new Murano gets its motivation from a revised version of everyone's favorite 3.5L VQ V6, this time putting out 265 horsepower and connected to a new Xtronic CVT transmission. The theme of this new car is "mobile suite," and therefore gets all the electronic gadgets Nissan could fit into the D Platform including a push button ignition, rearview monitor, iPod connectivity, 9-inch screen with DVD, 11-speaker Bose audio system, GPS navigation and a 9.3GB HD for music.
