Face time is a beautiful thing. Driving a captain of industry like Bill Ford around in an Escape Hybrid is apparently enough for mainstream media journalists to freak out and pledge fealty to an automotive brand. At least that seems to be the case with the New York Post's John Crudele, who inadvertently ended up doing just that when Ford and his posse couldn't find a driver during a press event introducing hybrid taxis in the Gro e Apfel. And as a result, Crudele's showered Ford with praise for its environmental efforts and apparent devotion to hybrid technology, despite the limited showroom presence, and the fact that GM has partnered wtih DCX and BMW to develop new hybrid powertrains.
