Yep, it's that time of the week again: 2010 Ford Mustang teaser day. This time the Blue Oval boys have dribbled out a sheet metal crease apparently belonging to the hood bulge or "powerdome" in marketing parlance. All amusing since we've already seen the hood anyway. We'd really rather see what's underneath, particularly if it's an engine that says "EcoBoost" on the valve covers or something. We're getting as tired of seeing bits and pieces of the upcoming 2010 Ford Mustang (new and old) as everybody else is, so when these candid spy shots of the refreshed pony car surfaced actually showing the grille — close up and in detail, it was like a breath of fresh air. The new grille closely follows our rendering but does so with a bit more upper lip. You know, for that cro-magnon tough guy look. Ford has dribbled out another teaser shot of the new 2010 Ford Mustang. It's our first glimpse at the...err...front...corner...region. Nothing against the upcoming 'Stang, but these teasers only have value if they actually show something to get excited about—and this one really doesn't. Unlike previous teasers, which showed off the first clear look at the dashboard, the seats, the badge and details, this new shot only gives a very shadowy look at a small portion of the grille, and an angle of the fender which is hard to judge proportion by. Ford continues their slow piece-by-piece-by-piece reveal of the 2010 Ford Mustang with this official photo of the car's dashboard. Since it's just a teaser, you can't really make out much except the dash and the side view of the steering wheel, but it looks like a more rounded interpretation of the outgoing model's interior. Of course, as you can see from the spy shots below, we've already seen the what the new 'Stang looks like on the inside. We've gotta say that as far as the interior accommodations go, the Camaro appears to still have an edge over the Mustang and Challenger in the muscle car wars. More »

We've seen a nearly full reveal of the new Mustang's interior, clear spy photos of the 2010 Shelby GT500 and now this set of official teaser shots from Ford of what appears to be the 2010 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. After getting a clearer look at the 2010 Ford Mustang GT500 yesterday, we just got these perfect spy shots in from the folks at KGP laying out the interior changes for the 2010 Ford Mustang. If you're having a hard time identifying the differences, don't be shocked, as they're subtle and evolutionary over the outgoing 2009 model. Given the rubber steering wheel, we're assuming this interior belongs to the base V6 model, but changes like the revised center stack, cleaned up emergency brake lever, new air vents and a side window defrost vent will be shared across all cars. It's also worth noting the ergonomic updates to the center stack, as the digital readout is now at the top of the pile, followed by presets and menu controls; the volume and tuning knobs are both analog knobs now (thank you Ford) and the HVAC controls move to the bottom. A heavily camouflaged 2010 Ford Mustang took to the track on "Ford Mustang Day" during the Road America festivities this weekend in the land of cheese and onions called Wisconsin. Ford's calling it a special public "debut" of the 2010 Mustang, which served as the pace car for the vintage racing field during the weekend's races. We're told the leather and fishnets it's sporting are its "special 'camo' package." Special? Package? Here we thought it was just to keep Ford design secrets safe. Now Ford's got us hoping this "special package" will become an actual for-purchase package for the new muscular pony car. But we doubt that dream will ever become a reality. What is a reality is Ford's trying desperately to blunt the huge wave of press for the 2010 Chevy Camaro accidentally revealed on Friday. Specifically, discussion focused on the partially speculative rendering of the 2010 Mustang GT on the front of Car und Driver this month. More than one person had already told us a number of differences between the production model and the one featured on the cover of the big buff book, and our new source claimed the same thing. Holy cow, OMG, WTF — it's a real, live badge for the 2009 Ford Mustang! OK, we'll stop with the exclamations now. But why wouldn't we be excited — it's the 45th anniversary of the Mustang and, and, and — OK, we can't really figure out why we should be excited. Especially given we'll see an entirely new Ford Mustang less than one year later for the 2010 model year. Whatever, we salute Ford for 45 years of pony cars. At least they kept going with the muscular muscle cars even when no other 'merican automaker would. That took some guts — and we'll give 'em credit for that. However we'll still poke 'em for that big truck axle in the rear end. Speaking of credit, we're also going to give some credit to Mustang Evolution for pokin' fun at Ford with a snarky little comment on the new 'stangs looking a little thick around the waist.
