After last night's reveal of the reskinned and retuned 2010 Ford Mustang, it sure didn't take long for video of the car in motion to hit the web but here she be, in her pony-car glory. The new 'Stang does little to show off its 315 HP other than provide proof that it can attain forward motion. We're sorely disappointed the first video provided no roiling clouds of tire smoke played to a chainsaw-heavy Jackyl soundtrack, but you can't have everything. Our friends over at MustangBlog have themselves a scoop this morning before the day of the official reveal of Ford's new pony car, the 2010 Mustang. The bloggers all about the 'stang have somehow snagged the official options and pricing on the premium package on the new 2010 Ford Mustang GT. That package would come with a 4.6-liter OHC 3V V8, Sync mated to the Shaker 500 audio system, 18" wheels, pretty aluminum accent dash, pedal covers, shift plate & shift knob and a leather steering wheel. In addition to the premium package, we're also told to expect a GT Track Package for an extra $1,445 with dual piston calipers, performance brake pads, a 3.73 axle ratio and a recalibrated stability control. We're getting as tired of seeing bits and pieces of the upcoming 2010 Ford Mustang (new and old) as everybody else is, so when these candid spy shots of the refreshed pony car surfaced actually showing the grille — close up and in detail, it was like a breath of fresh air. The new grille closely follows our rendering but does so with a bit more upper lip. You know, for that cro-magnon tough guy look. A German LPG advocacy group called Green Autogas has teamed up with tuner Rollin on Chrome to build a natural-gas powered Mustang GT. The green (surprise, surprise) 'Stang puts out 300 HP via the LPG mill, yet produces 20% less CO2 and as much as 95% fewer oxides of nitrogen; since Europeans are taxed heavily on emissions output, that kind of power with a big reduction in pollution equals more fun for the buck. The car also gets 22-inch wheels and a carbon fiber body kit, but actual fuel usage figures — as well as a cost-per-mile comparison between a gasoline Mustang and the LPG Mustang — weren't provided. But not before a couple more special editions come out, like the Saleen Dark Horse. We're getting a steady stream of teasers on the newly updated 2010 Ford Mustang, like this first look at the seats and the new center console. Obviously seats need to be comfortable first and attractive second, but these look like they fit both bills pretty well. The new center console appears taller, integrating the armrest right into the surface, with a little door in the middle for storage of all your favorite car-worthy junk. Take a look a those new door inserts too — pretty sharp if you ask us. We won't be seeing the actual Mustang formally until the end of November at the Los Angeles Auto Show, so we'll just have to make do with the teasers as they come. More »

Seems reader Christine stumbled into a stable of ponies as a group of 2010 Ford Mustangs traveled down what looks to us like Detroit's I-94 freeway. Though these are pretty poor quality camera phone pictures, we did notice three things about the new 'Stang. First, the coupe is wearing some cool wheels which, though distorted, remind us of the same ones the General Lee sports. Second, Ford guys in convertible Mustangs that get caught with the top down on a camera phone give a mean stink-eye. Third, apparently Bill Gates' 20-year-old clone is driving the hard top. More »

Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. We saw an Alameda Mustang just a couple of days ago, but I'm making the rules here and I say there's no reason we can't have a two-Mustang week! I found this '65 parked on the same block as the '78 Datsun 280Z, the 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S and the 1960 Cadillac. Alameda has plenty of first-generation Mustangs and I haven't been in any hurry to shoot all of them, but this one really caught my eye with its interesting mix of black-plate originality and no-hurry-to-paint-it primer patches.
