Those who know it call it the "TIRRITO VAJON rtt." To the rest of us, it's a mystery. All we can figure is that it has a McLaren F1-style 3-seater cockpit and it's styling is like a cross between a Pagani Zonda and 1990 Mosler Consulier GTP. Maybe it's a kit-car? Maybe it's a garage-built one-off? Other details are slim, but the Italian owner claims "it's a car with engine of 3000 cc biturbo rear traction" Whatever the case, an overly-ambitious project like this is a shining example of making the most from what you have. From his so-ugly-it's-astonishingly-badical Consulier, to the Fist-of-the-Double-Northstar'd TwinStar Cadillac and onto his MT900 series of supercars, the Mosler way isn't necessarily the normal way. And now he's placed an ad in Grassroots Motorsports looking for techs with skill (or not) to assemble MT900s in his South Florida facility. The pay? The first production Mosler supercar has been delivered to none other than George Lucas himself. While Moslers burn up race tracks the world over, this is the first street-legal model delivered to the roads of America. Mr. Lucas had the Mosler specially outfitted with spoiler delete, custom black paint scheme, and possibly a space for an R2 unit behind the engine after son of Lucas commented he thought the car was pretty cool. The Mosler MT 900 packs a 435 HP LS6 amidships that propels the car to 60 mph in a mere 3.1 seconds. This MT 900 is serial number 003, with the first two serving as in-house Mosler test vehicles. Mr. Lucas will likely have to employ waving of hand along with the Jedi mind trick on the occasion he has conversation with the CHP. This is not the Mosler you're looking for. Move along. What's more, Mosler sent an MT900S on the Rally, which, due to the unfortunate attitude of the driver, we didn't get a chance to ride in. But while one can front on a blogger, one cannot front on Carl Lewis, and even though the supercar naturally made it to the big end of the track in Great Bend, KS far faster than the nine-time gold medalist, we're pretty damn sure that Carl nailed him off the line. Leave it to zee tunahz at TVR Deutschland, which have created a sicko sendup of the Mosler MT900S, the production version of the track-only MT900R. They're calling the tuner model the MT900 GTR — and it's got a worked-up LS7 (go Yanks!) V8, along with ceramic brakes, KW suspension, track-ready ABS, Work alloys and Recaro seats. The latest Eurovision sampler will sound fab via the Alpine stereo. No word on price or availability, but we'd imagine the dealership will build one to order if enough Krugerrands change hands. Britishers of worth will soon have a new, six-figure supercar with which to peel the parsnips, as it were. (No, we have no idea what it means.) US-based Mosler inked an agreement with the UK's largest TVR dealer, Racing Green Cars, to provide ample supply of MT900S models, Mosler's Corvette Z06-powered road cars. Weighing a mere 2200 lbs, the 435hp MT900S (the civilian model of the racing MT900R) can leap to 60mph in a fox-like 3.5 seconds, and reach a hound-thwarting 200mph. The cars will cost $179,130, and owners can watch them being crafted by ex-members of Budgie at the company's Norfolk plant. More »
