We just caught the Nissan NuVu, a concept that, as we said earlier, is meant to reveal the next generation styling of the next Nissan Micra. Frankly, the concept's as cute as its name (a play on words meaning "New View" as in "a new view on the Micra"). The interior is just as bubbly as the exterior, with the "2+1 seating arrangement" apparently designed with midget strippers in mind — it comes complete with a mini-stripper pole and a "double-dong" steerng wheel. We're sure hoping the Micra ends up with both in the final production version. OK, maybe not. Also, we're told this little bubble-topped concept's got an electric drivetrain. If you find yourself in Japan, bored with the look of your Nissan Micra, just call Duesen Bayern. Don't worry, it's a local call. The Japanese company builds replicas of European iron from other hardware. Such is the company's the Ritz model, for example, for which the company refits a Micra with sheetmetal add-ons to bring out its inner Fiat 500. A UK dealership hopes some resident bimbette — or the Fleet Street banker who sweats her — will pay more than double the price of a Nissan Micra C+C just because it's pink, and because it comes with a registration tag reading BAR8IE. It's one of 275 Micra C+C models Nissan delivered in pink to support charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer. But the dealership is working with license tag provider Newreg.com to offer a package deal — 14,750 for the car and 21,500 for the tag, for a total of 36,250. Seems a bit, well, high? Right, well unlike in the states, where vanity tags can be had by the DOT for a nominal fee, in the UK they're big business. The dealership, Chorley Nissan, vowed to make a 250 donation to the charity, and Newreg.com pledged an undisclosed sum. Now all they need is the overindulged wife of a footballer and a fat cheque. The UK's king of high-fashion plasticware, Sebastian Conran, is putting his chichi stamp on Nissan's Micra C + C cabrio. Nissan's showing off a show car based on its European Micra droptop, the C+C+Conran, at the British motor show later this week. The concept joins Nissan's body of Conran-penned projects. The special Micra will be in a crimson-tinged duotone, Blushing Black, with dark-grey accenting. No word on whether it'll come with a special drainboard / can opener / potholder caddy. Nissan is bringing a new hatchback and two versions of its Micra minicar to Frankfurt, in the name of increasing the style and sportiness quotients of its subcompact line. The show will mark the debut of its new Note, a five-door hatch billed as a "family car for the enthusiast," meaning it'll have a sporty feel to offset young buyers' need for cup holders and baby seats. It'll come with a choice of two diesels and two gas engines, including a 1.6-liter mill it will share with (segue alert) two, specialty versions of its Micra minicar that will share the Frankfurt floodlamps, the 160SR (street racer?) — a performance-minded edition — and the C+C, a cabriolet.
