Michelin has challenged budding car designers to come up with the next iconic American vehicle, referencing past greats like 1968 Ford Mustang. Here’s a gallery of our favorites.

Each photo in the gallery has a description of the concept below it. Our favorite is the Soft Private Vehicle, although we’re a bit worried about getting our privates stuck in the zipper-cum-door. Next year’s theme is “Electrifying.” Think Chrysler will enter?
