We were seriously looking forward to hearing about the zero-miles '57 Belvedere emerging in pristine original condition from its time capsule in Oklahoma City Tulsa, but now the odds of the car being totally cherry have dropped considerably and we're, like, bum-tripped. Water was standing about two feet deep in the Belvedere's vault when it was unearthed yesterday, and it looks like water had completely filled the space during the past. The car is encased in various layers of protective coating, including a big plastic bag, but nobody at the scene seems very optimistic. – Murilee Martin
