When you take the weird-to-start Chevy Lumina minivan and double it up, you end up creating one very weird vehicular contraption. Look upon it with wonder, fear, and awe. Don't have the $100,000-plus to pony up for a new Maserati? Don't worry, friends, there are other options out there. Take this Maserati Lamp, for example. Designed and produced by Lumina, this ode to Italian design is available in a standing or tabletop version. It takes a cue from the automaker by including the Maserati logo and the negative-space design is meant to look like the familiar Maserati grille. There's no word on pricing, but consider that it may be expensive, but not more than the actual car itself. That being said, if you don't own a Maserati and you're buying this lamp you're slightly sadder than the person who buys one of these and does. Moose are proving to be the bane of the open road roadway. Before they were just eating our cars, now apparently they are committing auto-assisted Seppuku. After seeing those gloriously gory photos of a BMW being outfoxed by the local wildlife, reader Jeffrey Schmatz called us dainty little girls and sent in pics of what happens when a Chevy Lumina tangles with a Canadian moose. While not as blood and gutsy, these have more of that wow factor that guarantees dozens of rednecks standing around with PBR in hand spinning yarns about bigger moose and bloodier destruction. Something has to be said about a animal strike that will require a crane to be involved. Again, we'll maintain our demure sensibilities and keep the gallery below the fold. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/334000/danger-moose-obliterates-lumina" title="Click here to read more about Danger! Michigan plates, rear-wheel drive, 6.2-liter LS3 V8 under the hood — one would hope — and double esses across its hind quarters. We'd be tempted to think it's Chevrolet's version of the Pontiac G8 and Holden VE Commodore. But soon-to-be car site Motive — partially constructed by one who brought you the sadly defunct MPH — says it's more likely an Omega SS for the Brazilian market or a Lumina SS for the Middle-Eastern market. Plus, it's got the Holden "VE" badging, which makes us doubt our distaste for kangaroo sausage. Kodak's Lumiere slide film always made us think of the Chevrolet Lumina, even though it referenced French filmmaking brothers, rather than crappy-ass midsize GM cars of the Dark Times. But for some reason, GM has persisted in using the Lumina name in foreign markets. Why? We have no goddamn idea, but at least in foreign Bizzaro-World, it's rear-drive and is available with an LS2 stonker. And some kid in Ypsitucky with a penchant for Metallica's unfortunate Late Period and far-worse car-stereo n

-metal video'd one on some outing or another. He posits that they're bringing it here. All manner of crazy crap is spotted around Metro Detwa, and we're sure that if GM brings the rebadged Commodore to the US, it won't be called a Lumina. More »
