Acura, lacking a coupe in its lineup, turned to Benz tuning house Lorinser to take the otherwise attractive new Mercedes E-Class Coupe and graft on an Acura-esque schnoz. According to the press release from tuning shop Lorinser, the Mercedes C-Class is "hot" now that they've had their way with it. The tuner apparently used a beefier cam in conjunction with revised engine management to squeeze 33 extra horsepower out of the new Benz, rather than going the turbo route as they did on the Lorinser Smart ForTwo. A lowered suspension tightens up handling and a tuned exhaust combines with exterior badging to let everyone know that you're hot. Check out the "hot" press release below, complete with bonus heat metaphors. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5069151/lorinser-tunes-c+class-up-to-305-hp-makes-it-hot" title="Click here to read more about Lorinser Tunes C-Class Up To 305 HP, Makes It "Hot"">More »

During our first drive of the 2008 Smart ForTwo we enjoyed its small size in the big city, but we would have really enjoyed some extra power. This Lorinser-tuned ForTwo may not be a sports car in the traditional sense, but with 101 HP from its turbocharged 3-cylinder, it's a nice improvement over the stock mill. However, even though the car weighs just 1700 lbs, 0-62 MPH still takes almost 10 seconds, likely due in part to the sluggish semi-automatic gearbox. Sure, you get a Lorinser body kit and some spiffy rims, but we'd still rather just build ourselves a 'Busa Smart. Humorous ESL press release after the jump. More »

Those crazy Swabians at Lorinser are at it again! After taking the Mercedes SL up to 11, they've turned their tuning fork on the C-Class T Model (wagon/estate). It's just the vehicle for when you need to get the kids to school, like, yesterday. In addition to the obvious bodywork (air inlets are not standard on most wagons) and Lorinser RS8 19-inch wheels, the grocery getter also gets engine upgrades for both the diesel and gas versions. At the top end, the C 350 gets a power bump to 305 hp compared the 272 hp from the standard six, thanks to modified camshafts. We'd still rather have the RS4 Avant, though. The speed freaks may not be impressed by 201 mph, but we're more than floored at the prospect of nearly 4,000 pounds of luxo-roadster breaking the 200 mph mark. The suave Swabians at Lorinser managed this feat with a Mercedes SL by taking an SL65 Biturbo AMG mill and tweaking the electronic and fuel management systems to achieve 660 hp. Named for the high-speed test track, the Nardo3 also comes complete with a not-so-subtle body kit boasting wider fenders and intakes wide enough to swallow an Aveo (and also hopefully cool the brakes needed to stop this beast). The company insists the car is an absolutely reliable daily driver and have added enough Alcantara leather bits to make the most pampered driver feel comfortable. The Swabians at Lorinser have turned their style wands on the new Mercedes CL class, with a new aero kit and various add ons including the company's signature aluminum wheels. Not much to say, really, but that the new CL's design economy makes out-tricking a dicey prospect. Luckily the Swabians know something about economy. – Mike Spinelli More »

Considering we've always had trouble with Teutonic coordinating conjunctions, we're relying on World Car Fans to translate details on Lorinser's new S Class tuner — the Lorinser S 06. First, an engine kit gives it a 30% boost in horsepower, owing to a modified exhaust manifold/catalytic converter unit and sundry hacking of the ECU computer — providing "improved combustion in the upper rotational speed range" — bringing horsepower to 298 for the 3.5-liter V6 and 420 for the 5-liter V8. Vmax for cars with either engine is uprated to 174 mph. A supercharged version is good for 516 hp and 205 mph. Or it comes with extra pants, we're not sure. More »

A couple of our favorite Cadillac tunes: "Long White Cadillac" by the Blasters and the Clash's rendition of "Brand New Cadillac" by Vince Taylor. Cadillac's favorite tuners? Brabus, McLaren, Lorinser and Dinan, at least if we're to believe the folks who report the news from the left lane. Apparently, the Cads are considering farming out models to tuners of European cars because, well, "Mallett" just doesn't sound sophisticated enough. Rumor has it that they're also considering a Super-V model of CTS, powered by the LS7. Man, the headlights shine, and the highway fades to black... [Thanks to Sebastian for the tip.] More »

German tuning and body-mod house (no, not the kind that implants devil horn bumps in people's heads) Lorinser created a Mercedes E-Class stretch limo that's more than a yard longer than the base model. The stretch includes and added center row of seats (airport-bus style), as well as cosmetic tweaks including a body kit, 20" wheels and various attached spoilerage. All that's missing is a twin-turbo, AMG-tuned powerplant. But then, you'd need a driveshaft the size of a pole-vault pole to get that kind of power to the rear wheels. And oh, the torque. No, it wouldn't be pretty. More »
