Have you ever wondered what happens to all those old cars which turn into neither steel scrap nor gleaming restorations? Cars which simply fall out of the life cycle of cars and fade away. Alícia Rius has. She’s a photographer from Spain who describes her work as a “search for hidden treasures”. Her latest project, From the backseat of my car, shows the view out of cars which have passed the point of no return between car life and car death, not quite cars anymore but not quite landscape yet, a place where wildflowers and dashboard buttons mingle. More »

Far too often when an old junkyard full of classic iron closes, decades of restorable cars and valuable parts are cashed out for whatever the per ton rate of scrap metal is at the time. Thankfully this is not one of those stories, at least not yet. Although the owners of the 50 year old salvage yard in Maxwell, NE have decided to auction their amazing inventory instead of crush it, it doesn't necessarily mean these cars have escaped the crusher. More »

Junkyards. They're the unsung heroes of car lovers. They help us keep the cars we rely on running cheaply and rebuild the cars we love. Every car guy has a tale from the junkyard. Here's one of mine. More »

All the hottest Citroens are present and accounted for; the Traction Avant, the 2CV, the Xantia, the SM, the DS, the CX, even a frigging HY! Sadly, we don't see a single FAF. Oh yeah, all cars pictured are 1/24 scale models. Make the jump to shake your head - hopefully in wonder. – Jonny Lieberman More »
