				Wes and I spent yesterday at a very Flex-ible Ford event in the Big Apple, and before we hit the road, we had a chance to sit down with some other journalists and break bread with our new mishpacha, Ford's chief creative officer  J "Boss Of <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/news/fords-bm-++-episode-ii-peter-horbury-has-balls-but-does-dave-185895.php">Big Balls</a>" Mays. While other journalists were busy munching on mozzarella and delicious turkey-n-cranberry baguettes, we were asking the hard-hitting questions designed to break through Mays' built Ford tough PR shell and get to the juicy nuggets of upcoming product knowledge he had inside.       Last night at the <em>Automotive News</em> World Congress in Dearborn, MI, FoMoCo global design chief J Mays outlined five must-have elements designers need to "figure out" when planning a new vehicle. They include looking at the customer, determination of brand aspiration, telling a story, choosing the appropriate vehicle platform and looking for "that thing" to make it stand out. According to Mays, "that thing" is some kind of a "secret sauce" that "surprises and delights you" and when you've  <blockquote><em>"...put it all on a proper platform, shake that up with a little bit of 'that thing,' and I think you're going to have, more times than not, a successful vehicle."</em></blockquote>Given that comment we've got to wonder &mdash; who exactly was the project manager who decided the new Ford Focus (pictured in gallery below) had the requisite amount of "secret sauce?" We're kind of thinking maybe FoMoCo should send it back for a little bit more &mdash; unless of course by "secret sauce" Mays means the team gets liquored up during the design process. 				Yes, yes &mdash; Giorgetto's son and J Mays fired up the engine of the savagely orange Italdesign Mustang. But the highlight of the night was when <a href=" http://www.autoblog.com/">Autoblog Frank</a>, fueled by the courage only whiskey and Diet Coke can provide, began talking about how hot Lara Flynn Boyle's Victoria's Secret stylings in <em>Men in Black II</em> were, while seated on a couch next to <b><em>Lara Flynn Fucking Boyle</em></b>!! Why was Ms. Boyle there? Why were the martinis leading me to believe she was checking me out? Why is the "low tire pressure" warning light in my car on? 				Thanks to Dutch car mag, <em>Autovisie</em>, we've got tentative proof the top-secret Giugiaro Mustang &mdash; a concept car reported to be a joint project of Ford design boss J Mays and ItalDesign's Fabrizio Giugiaro &mdash; exists in sheetmetal form. Set for a debut at the Los Angeles auto show later this month, the Italianized 'Stang will, according to <em>Wards's Auto</em> have the most powerful Mustang engine developed to date.
