Ferrari has repeatedly stated that its hybrid cars will never run on an electric-only mode, like a Prius. Does this quiet LaFerrari video serve as proof that they've been lying?
In this video shot at Ferrari's gate in Maranello, we see (or rather hear) a LaFerrari driving in silence. Then its massive 789 horsepower V12 kicks in and the car sprints away.
Now, it's possible the car was just rolling forwards when it was silent, but it's also quite possible that we're seeing the 161 horsepower KERS electric system powering the car alone. This video possibly shows that Ferrari could let the LaFerrari run without burning any gas if they wanted to.
