Accused Driver Of Stolen Tesla That Broke In Half DiesDamon Lavrinc7/10/14 4:10pmFiled to: teslacrash1854EditPromoteShare to KinjaToggle Conversation toolsGo to permalink The man that allegedly stole a Model S from a Tesla service facility in Los Angeles, crashed, and managed to rip the car in half has died at Cedars Sinai hospital. Twenty-six-year-old Joshua Michael Slot from Inglewood allegedly snagged the Tesla from the Centinela service center and shortly thereafter was involved in a high speed chase with the police.According to the police, the chase ended when one of the officers was involved in a minor collision, after which Slot raced down La Brea Avenue and onto I-10 at 100 mph. He continued to West Hollywood where he hit another vehicle at the intersection of La Brea Ave. and Santa Monica Blvd, before hitting two other vehicles down the street at high speed. The force of the final impact was enough to not only tear the Tesla in half and wedge it into the side of a synagogue, but Slot, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car. The authorities on the scene assumed he was dead, but paramedics managed to resuscitate him. He later died at the hospital.
