Welcome to Sunday Matinee, where we highlight classic car reviews or other longer videos I find on YouTube. Kick back and enjoy this blast from the past.

Like I've said before, the Corvette Z06's natural habitat is on the track. Its history as a hard-edged racer that happens to have two (admittedly low quality-) leather-lined seats is proven. But don't tell Jeremy Clarkson that.

While this video is fairly recent for the Sunday Matinee, it provides a good base for what we can compare the new car to. Clarkson actually seemed to like it, which is unusual for an American car, at least until he went off a closed course. A fair point, maybe, but you're not exactly citing the Lotus Exige for its cushy ride.

Nevertheless, I'm still amazed he thought a lowly 'Vette could stack up to a contemporary Ferrari.
