Joel Ewanick was GM's global marketing head. He was also one of the most controversial characters in the company in recent years. He was relieved of his duties last year, and has stayed rather quiet about GM since. Until now.
Former General Motors global marketing chief Joel Ewanick said that signing the Chevrolet-Manchester United sponsorship deal that ultimately led to his ouster last year was a "no-brainer," Automotive News reports today.

As noted in our recent story on the Ford Super DeLuxe Sportsman that sold at auction last weekend in Hershey, the limited-production woodie convertible Sportsman originated with a one-off car that E.T. "Bob" Gregorie designed for Henry Ford II. Decent photographic evidence of that particular car proved elusive, however, until Ford's corporate Historian, Bob Kreipke, came through with the following set of pictures and some additional history on the prototype.
