Toyota Will Replace Your Gas Pedal, But Only If You Bitch About It

Toyota Will Replace Your Gas Pedal, But Only If You Bitch About ItIf you own a Toyota recalled for a sticky accelerator pedal and don't want the precision-machined metal chicklets they're offering as a fix, Toyota will replace the entire pedal at no extra cost. All you have to do is bitch.

According to this Toyota Service Bulletin sent out today:

Although we believe that the majority of customers will be satisfied with the operation and/or the feel of the
accelerator pedal after the reinforcement bar has been installed, a few customers may request pedal replacement. Customer satisfaction is important to Toyota. Therefore, if a customer is not satisfied with the operation and/or the feel of the accelerator pedal after the reinforcement bar has been installed, please assist us by assuring a replacement pedal is provided at no charge to these customers.

If you're not interested in reading all that, well, then here's the Cliff Notes version:

1. Get the precision-machined metal bit installed.
2. Complain about "operation and/or the feel."
3. Ask for a new pedal.

And voila, you'll have yourself a brand new pedal installed, free of charge. Don't thank us, thank the rest of America freaking out that their Camry'll kill them.
