Scion just released this teaser image of the Hako Coupe Concept, which will debut at the New York Auto Show later this month. It's expected that the Hako will represent a near-production version of 2006's Fuse concept and could replace the TC coupe. Judging by the picture, Scion are looking to bring their coupe styling more in line with their popular XB hatchback. The press release follows the jump. More »

The bargain-basement badge from the super number one best automaker from the land of the rising sun confirmed to the Line on the Inside they'll be debuting a new concept vehicle for Scion come the New York Auto Show in April. The last concept we saw from the budget brand was the Scion Fuse (pictured above) from the 2006 New York Auto Show. How'd that one end up faring? Well, the pooping trunk luckily hasn't made it into any new designs from Toyota's below-the-budget levy line. But Edmunds Ed Hellwig-run shop also got the scoop that Toyota hates the Chicago Auto Show, and they're not going to do jack squat there for any of their three brands come next month. The first thing we said when we saw the rear-action shot of the Scion Fuse was, "is the Fuse pinchin' a loaf?" One normally wouldn't think of poop when thinking of the Scion brand, although one of us believes he has created a poop about as big as the small vehicles populating Toyota's entry-level brand. As for this concept, which features some pretty neat ideas, we're kinda hoping they shelve the whole "poop" thing from the rear end. (To be fair, Scion/Toyota claims it's a "multi-functioning rear cargo" area) But we don't really know for sure as Scion (Toyota) is saying very little about the prospects for the entry-level concept. The one thing we do know is the Fuse has definetly been lit under the collective butts of legions of loyal Scion fans. I hope somebody remembers to light a match. ScionLife has an exclusive quick over-the-nose shot of the Scion FUSE concept car. The Fuse will sport a chop top and a mad short snout as you can almost tell from the one teaser pic ScionLife is throwin' down. The entry-level Toyota brand plans on introducing the concept at the New York Auto Show this upcoming week.
