Yesterday we told you all about the greatest Fierrari Enzno ever built, a piece of kit with such attention to detail it would make a Swiss watchmaker weep. Today we pick up on another niche coachbuilder following in the footsteps of the Fierrari, Edo Competition. Despite starting off with an actual Enzo instead of a Pontiac Fiero, Edo totally falls flat when compared to the magic of the Enzno. In-depth analysis below the fold. More »

If you've got Krugerrands enough to give King Midas a case of the wobblies, and you want a GT1 racecar to take shopping, call Edo Competition. Never one to shrink from a high-buck project, Edo created a tuner version of the Maserati MC12 Corsa. That's the $1.7 million, track-only version of Maserati's Enzo-based halo GT car built for homologation's sake, the lightweight Maserati MC12 Corsa. Edo's futzed with the suspension, exhaust and braking systems, applied a new tire and wheel package, and says it's getting approval for its Corsa to be street legal. Sure it'll be awesome, as such reckless disregard for convention sometimes is, though Maserati purists will likely tape pictures of the Halloween-orange racer to their dart boards. More »

World Car Fans cracked open the Ferrari message boards and came up with a teaser shot of Edo Competition's coming Ferrari 599GTB tuner. Not so much rossa as really freaking blanca, this tweaked out horse will likely be revealed in Frankfurt next month. Let it never be said that a factory tuner car can't take just a little more juice from the aftermarket. Edo Competition futzed with Lamborghini's top-of-mast Murcielago LP640, finding an extra 23 hp under the seat cushions. Actually, they found it in the ECU, the airflow setup and exhaust. The Euro-spec V12, they say, now produces 663 hp and 498 lb-ft of torque. Edo also fitted its tuner with a rear wing with adjustable lip, carbon fiber interior trim and a backup camera, so Lambo drivers might actually be able to avoid stuff behind them, without having to stick their heads out the door. Pretty sneaky, Edo. – Mike Spinelli More »

Edo Competition's juiced Maserati MC12 is about as close to a street-legal Le Mans car you can get for less than an oil tanker filled with Krugerrands (or is that more?). Actually, Edo's tuner proves what can be done when money is no object, which is to say a race-ready weekend sports car that's impractical for anything but being flogged on the Hockenheimring. And in this video, that's exactly what the Edo bunch does to a pre-paint prototype. At a top speed of 242 mph, it's not the fastest, but it's definitely got a certain presence. – Mike Spinelli More »

Don't adjust your rods and cones; that Ford GT isn't supposed to be black and orange. Sure, Germany's Edo Competition often makes with the Halloween colors on its modded cars, but this time it's playing matters close to the vest. Its Ford GT tuning and cosmetics kit is good for 60 extra horsepower and some additional visual interest. It comprises a sport exhaust, carbon fiber engine bay paneling, rear wing, custom wheels, air-pressure control system (for tires, not passengers), and suspension tweaks. It's good for a reduction in zero-to-62 mph (100 km/h) time from 3.9 seconds to 3.7 seconds and increases top speed to a reported 211 mph from 205 stock. Sometimes in this crazy 'ol Siegfried and Roy car world we live in, subtlety is a virtue. [Thanks to Eric for the tip.] – Mike Spinelli More »

Okay, its arguable to consider the Porsche Cayenne's true antecedent to be the VW bus, especially when the Stuttgartian SUV can be tweaked into performing such feats of strength (just in time for Festivus). As we mentioned back in November, Edo's highly tweaked, twin-turbo Cayenne seemed from the spec sheet to be quite a goer. Now, we get to see it in action, though still donning that orange-and-black-o-lantern paint job. Lucky for Hockenheim, racetracks don't have eyes. – Mike Spinelli <a href="http://jalopnik.com/224478/ever-see-a-flying-bus-edos-porsche-cayenne-tuner" title="Click here to read more about Ever See a Flying Bus? Generally speaking, black-and-orange color schemes should be confined to coal fires and plastic jack 'o lanterns. This Porsche Cayenne tuner from Edo Competition does little to refute that, but it is quite a goer for such a fat ride. The Edo bunch, perhaps best known as the company that dared finagle with the Maserati MC 12 supercar (click through to the jump page for more on that), worked the 4.5-liter V8 to produce 610 hp and 579 ft-lbs of torque. Such tweakage cuts the bus's zero-to-60 time to 4.6 seconds, and gives it a top speed of 180 mph. Suspension mods and 22"alloys keep matters groundward. Paint it in British racing green and we have a deal. – Mike Spinelli More »
