First used in 1968 on the HK Monaro, the GTS badge now celebrates its 40th anniversary with 100 units of this special edition HSV GTS. Though the name GTS stands for "Gran Turismo Sportivo," the 40th Anniversary edition is merely an appearance package available only in red or white, with black stripes and plenty of '40 years of GTS' logos all over the car. Of course, with about 425 HP ready to be sent to the rear wheels, and Magnetic Ride Control to keep you planted, the GTS is nothing to scoff at. It's certainly better than the standard Holden Commodore on which it's based, or the Pontiac G8 GT. More »

Does your BLUETEC E-Class Benz not give you quite the power you were hoping for? Does 400 lb.-ft. of torque leave you cold inside? BRABUS, tuner of all things Mercedes, might have an answer to your uniquely affluent problems. A new upgrade from BRABUS boosts power by 47 horsepower and about 50 lb.-ft. of torque, to 258 and 450, respectively. Besides a lot of power for just over $2,500 (body kit extra), the new modification also meets EURO V emissions standards and is backed by a three year/62,000 mile warranty. The company also offers an E 320 BLUETEC kit for oil-burning yanks. Pics and press release below the jump. More »

More exciting action from the D.C Auto Show as Ford snuck some E85 news into the 2009 Ford Escape press release. The company's E-Series vans, Navigator and Expedition will be able to run on E85 fuel this year, which is good news for the small percentage of the people reading this that have access to the approximately 0.01% of gas stations in the United States that actually offer Ethanol and are suddenly in the market for a bold-faced commercial van. Excuse us if we're not that excited. We really wanted them to announce they were building an E-Series van that runs on straight vegetable oil. Ford is having to recall approximately 1.8 million 7.3-liter PowerStroke diesel-powered trucks due to a computer software problem that has caused engine failures for customers, which we think is how I, Robot originally was supposed to start. According to Ford, the camshaft position sensor could break down and disrupt the flow of air and fuel, thus causing the vehicle to stall. Totally not as much fun as farting fire from the last Ford Recall. More »
So the headline on Ford's press release is totally bringing to mind "Best. Blank. Ever." And for some weird reason, it's making us laugh a little. That's probably not what FoMoCo had in mind when they wrote it up, but whatevs, it's been a long day. Despite the reaching-for-the-stars paper they released, there's reason for FoMoCo to be proud of the new line-up of commercial carriers, especially as they enter the market commanding 40% of the market share in sales vans. But when you're talking about a commercial van, who gives a rat's ass whether it's "Bold?" Also, FoMoCo's marketing team should have probably cleaned the test stuff out of the interior before they took the PR shots. Unless of course, that thing that looks like a big red fuel cut-off button is really a "Push For Bold Move" button. But that may not be a "standard" feature. Shots of the secret E-Series, a super-sport Commodore sedan from Holden's performance division HSV made their way to the Intersplice a week before GM planned, by way of an embargo-date mixup by a government office (Ministry of Speed?). Australian muscle-car watchers have been waiting for the E-Series for months, though we're admittedly not quite up on its backstory (Yozzie, a little help?). The car's expected o have a modest bump in power to go along with its funky-fresh body kit, though the large taillights and huge vents behind the front wheels are the most telling differences from the Commodore. Drive.com.au has the skinny. No word on whether Vauxhallites in the UK will see a version. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/194829/hold-on-holden-secret-hsv-e+series-photos-leaked" title="Click here to read more about Hold on, Holden!
