German mag Autozeitung claims the picture above, from their September issue, is the 2010 Mercedes E-Class, without any of the black plastic camo we've come to expect from spy photos of the new sedan. The new E-Class looks to be sporting headlights straight from Mercedes' ConceptFASCINATION concept design study set to see a reveal later this week at the Paris Motor Show. The sedan's big, wedge-shaped grille attached to a big, wedge-shaped body looks like it's nine months from a bedroom mating of a Hyundai Genesis and a Cadillac CTS. But, those sharper lines and tight-like-a-tiger body surfacing reflects a more C-Class-like design rather than a real derivative of the other automakers design languages. More »

Yes, this fanciful look at a two-door wagon is but a wild way of previewing the lines of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class and teasing hatch fans everywhere, though we hope we're wrong. Powered by the same small diesel mill found in the Mercedes C250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime, the concept features a humidor, refrigerated compartment and an interior inspired by equestrianism. No, not this Hammer Party, although the AMG Hammer came out around the same time as the Big Black album. We're talking about one of 21 American-built 1988 AMG "Hammer" Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars, which is up for sale with a Buy It Now of $89,999. Yes, even though this is a high-end, super-collectible factory musclecar, the seller feels compelled to do the "many nines" pricing routine more commonly associated with a clapped-out '86 Buick Somerset sitting on the Dollar Bill's Easy Autos lot with a Day-Glo "$1,999.99" sign on the windshield. But never mind that, because buying this car today is like buying an LS6 Chevelle 20 years ago; sure, it seems way overpriced now, but just wait another 20 years and see what happens! The only drawback here is the lack of the 32-valve 6-liter AMG engine, though the seller claims the 2-valve 5.6 is actually better. Finally, Google goes and does something worth our while. In what seems to be a completely inexplicable car accident, a Minneapolis woman decided to drive her Mercedes Benz E-Class into a tree - and the Google Street View camera car was there to immortalize it. Unfortunately the moment of impact wasn't captured by the pseudo-surveillance set-up so we're left with a head scratcher. It appears to be a one car accident, on a lightly congested street, in broad daylight - with a big tree. The last time we saw the next-generation of the Mercedes E-Class it was undergoing cold weather testing. This time it's been caught spending some time where it gets hot. Actually — it's in a place that gets really hot — the capital city of the lovely little emirate of Dubai. These shots, taken by a forum member over at Supercars.net, show off the new Daimler-Benz summer lineup of camouflage car cladding modeled by what looks to be the 2010 Mercedes E-Class. We're still expecting the next E-Class to offer a wide selection of gas engines ranging from four to eight cylinders running with 184 horses all the way up to 544 hp, and diesel's ranging from a four-cylinder at 136 horses to an 8-cylinder at 354 hp.
