This is what it feels like to drive a 105-year-old race car

Just look at that sexy engine working away on this 1906 Darracq grand prix car prowling around Australia's Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. That is some hot valve-on-combustion-chamber action. I think I might need to take a cold shower.

This car could have been seen at the inaugural French Grand Prix at Le Mans back in 1906, or just as easily at the once-famous Vanderbilt Cup on Long Island, New York. As for that engine, those are 14.25 liters of four-cylinder fury, each cylinder displacing over three and a half liters. If I keep watching those valves chatter away over those big, gaping cylinders, I think I'm going to have to go take some private time to myself.

Hat tip to: Maxichamp!
