The BMW X1 has unfortunately been in the pipeline for some time now, and due to the inevitable fact that it's going to be a soft-roading small crossover, we've been trying to just ignore it. No longer. This new teaser video for the concept version of the BMW X1, to be released at the Paris Motor Show next month, itself just a teaser for the impending production version, depicts skateboarding, graffiti-painting guys apparently doing marketing for the X1. Obviously this is just typical marketing bullshit, as this will not be a car for those anti-social punks, but rather for sorority girls. Though maybe you should just watch the video and judge for yourself. More »

Unless we're talking about an AMC Eagle or a Mega Track, we're not huge fans of crossover vehicles. But there's something about this Subaru Exiga that makes it feel acceptable. As we can see from this teaser, the new 7-seater looks to be significantly better looking than the <s>B9</s> Tribeca. And while it's hard to tell for sure through this shadowy lighting, it seems that the Exiga will be more on the big wagon than the compromised SUV side of the crossover coin. We just hope the flat boxer engine and AWD will uphold Subaru's reputation for making wagons that can tackle twisty tarmac. Photos below the jump. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/391632/subaru-exiga-teaser-makes-us-want-a-7+seater-crossover-kinda" title="Click here to read more about Subaru Exiga Teaser Makes Us Want A 7-Seater Crossover... We're not quite sure what to make of this. Seems like a scooter with car aspirations, but what to call it? A scootermobile? Autooter? In any case, this thing is the Shoprider Flagship so named as it is the flagship of the lineup. Complete with a fully enclosed shell, large automotive style windows, windshield wipers (or is that breeze shield in this case?) with washer squirts, and headlights. If we were mean, this is the place where we'd make a joke about portly people and indoor NASCAR races at the local Walmart, but we aren't so we won't do that. More »

Ford's SEMAfication continues, with a set of contract customs focusing on the company's trucks, SUVs and crossovers. It's just the latest example of the marketing juggernaut the massive Las Vegas aftermarket products show has become. Ford's latest include tuner-tart F-150s from ATS Design, K Daddyz Kustoms and its own Ford Vehicle Personalization team, a Lincoln MKX by Barry's Speed Shop, an Escape from FMS, and Edge from MRT-direct and a Lincoln Navigator L from DeBerti. The main event, at least for those left cold by mix-and-match catalog jobs, involves a 1951 F-Series (rendering above) created for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We'll be there, wearing one of those fruit hats like Carmen Miranda. More »

Seeing Ford's upcoming Flex crossover on the road must be like spotting an antique PT Cruiser in the late 2020s. All those right angles make it appear out of time, and yet its got a time-neutral quality I'd call timeless if that word didn't imply a 25th wedding anniversary present. Still, the Flex's simple geometry will likely clash with the more complex Edge on Ford lots, which will either make Ford's line seem disjointed or eclectic, depending on the beholder. Either way, its about as rad as a giant automaker has managed in a while, and we can't wait to throw our kiteboards in and hit the South of Jersey. – Mike Spinelli More »
