"@elwood: Nope, still thinking that displacement matters. Do you care if your engine is 3, 4, 5, or 6 liters if it has the right weight, economy and power curve? The point being that the 500hp all-Al Z06 motor is quite efficient, has a broad power-band and has a great power/lb rating...but at 7.0L, it's not doing too great at HP/L. Getting down to personal preference, I'm more impressed by the combination of simplicity and performance."

That said, those are still irrelevant, as what you're talking about is peak HP. Unless you're on a racetrack, you don't spend much time anywhere near peak HP (redline), but rather pulling from something like 1500-4000 rpm."
