<![CDATA[b33g33 commented on 2009 BMW 7-Series Hits Web A Wee Bit Early]]> I don't like it. I don't like the Buick/Maserati nose tip nor the Infiniti M45 back end. Having said that, I will withhold judgment till I see it in the flesh. Modern bimmers have a way of looking better in real life (I thought the E39 was an fugly successor to my E34 at the time) and growing on you.

The only good thing I could possibly say is that it isn't quite as ugly as the last one.

<![CDATA[b33g33 commented on Nikon D700 Mid-Range Full-Frame DSLR Leaked, Has D3's Image Sensor and Autofocus]]> @daveNYC:

LOL. Why the hell should a next gen Nikon FF mid-range camera be in the same price range as a 2 generation old Canon? Check the internet for prices, Nikons tend to be priced HIGHER than Canons on average. The body will definitely be a modified D300 which is a SEALED body unlike the dust-loving 5D. The D700 (or whatever the real Nikon contender is) will compete against the Canon 6D ( or whatever Canon will call the 5D successor).

So, no. It doesn't have to cost the same as a discounted 4 year old Canon

:)

<![CDATA[b33g33 commented on 2009 Audi S4 Details Begin To Emerge]]> @Murph5000:

I'm with you on the RWD and the sportier feel of the Bimmers. My previous car was a E34 535i and I still miss how that big boat handled. of course, it also averaged about 13.5 mpg and in the last few years of its life cost me about $5K/Yr in repairs and maintenance.

The A4 was a lucky find as I was looking for a replacement for the Bimmer. Its actually grown on me quite a bit since with its great ergonomics, torquey engine and decent handling.

Of course, if they were to bring over that 335d coupe any time soon, I might be looking for a new car :)

]]>
<![CDATA[b33g33 commented on 2009 Audi S4 Details Begin To Emerge]]> @Murph5000:

Hopefully, the car will be lighter and more fuel efficient than the last version as well. I've gotten used to getting 400+ miles on a tank in my 1.8T and with gas at $5 (soon, very soon), I don't really want to go back.

This is the first A4 since the B5 (my current ride) that I've found interesting aesthetically and technically. It does help that the current 3 series looks like Picasso's impression of a turd.

<![CDATA[b33g33 commented on Nissan GT-R Officially Dry-Laps Nürburgring In 7:29, Makes Us Wet]]> @Elhigh:

Hmmm ... I'm guessing you drive a Camry for 1 of 2 reasons:

1. That's what you can afford

2. That's all you're willing to spend on a vehicle and everything else goes into your secret plans for world domination and getting Devilock to lick your boots.

Either way, you made a choice to buy and drive a Camry. No problem. The people who can afford a GT-R (and at $70K, even in the midst of a recession thats quite a few people) are going to buy it and drive it how they please. Why are you getting so upset about it? This is a capitalistic free market right? I have a friend who's on the wait list for this car. He definitely won't use his GT-R to go to the grocery store or even to work. He has a 750i and a Jetta GTi he uses for that. He'll probably run the GT-R as much as he runs his current 911. A few times a month when he feels like having fun. He can afford it. He's worked hard to earn it. You shouldn't have a problem with that.
