Per someone who knows way more about it than me, it's a 1936 Packard Eight chassis with a 1936 Packard Twelve (V12, sometimes called "Twin 6") motor fitted with twin superchargers. The body is actually a 1929 Auburn model 120.

For reference, I drove a Hertz Shelby GT-H for a weekend back in March (Sebring 12 Hr). And I'm involved in automotive interiors for a supplier.

It's a '35 Packard Deitrich V12 up front and a '31 Auburn 852 Boat Tail in back...and lots of modifications in between.

I'm not going to go into it, but suffice it to say this car has a rich history.

Anyways, this Packard V12 Boat Tail went for either (depends on the source) $346.5K or $423.5K at the '07 Monterey Christie's auction, before most of this market/money contraction.

And I'd consider this to be more desireable than this Skylane.

The H3 *is* made in Shreveport, tho, but has the Struandale, South Africa assembly plant opened yet?

The H3T was scheduled to be fab'd in Janesville, WI in August...guess that's off the table now?

Can anyone confirm that the H3 is made on the Colorado/Shreveport line and the H2 is made on the Yukon/(duh, dunno) line?

BTW, just heard a rumor yesterday that the H2 is dead next year. They were barely selling 10K/yr anyways...
