<![CDATA[Comments from Al Navarro]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Al Navarro]]> <![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on Commenter Of The Day: Two For The Price Of One Edition]]> Is there really a running tally of COTDs somewhere that I missed along the way?

I want to see how big a lead ASH has on everybody. Please link it here or send me a PM.

In awe...definite double COTD nom.

That said, I don't find the first movie any more offensive than say Varsity Blues. The second and third (yes, I am a sadomasochist) worse than awful.

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on GM Files Patents For Tribeca-Based Saab 9-6X, Tale Of The Saaburu Maybe Not Complete]]> AAAARRRRAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!

This is just one example of things I just don't get about the car industry, the American variety especially.

If someone wants what a Tribeca offers, can't they just buy that?

Or are these the same folks who can't vote for a black man?

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on The Oldest 24 Hours Of LeMons Car Yet: UDMan's 1963 Corvair]]> UDman...2009 is very tight on time for me already (Se7ens meet, LOG down at the Barber museum, a very special birthday for, ahem, me, etc.)...but you know I can operate a car without killing the driver or the passenger.

You know where to reach me.

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on Have You Ever Fallen Asleep Driving?]]> Close many times...but literally (at the wheel) only twice. In the same short drive to/from Disney World to our hotel. I was going through a very bad patch and wasn't sleeping much. This, coupled with sun and exhaustion from shepherding the kids around the Magic Kingdom, led to acute doziness.

Fortunately, both naps were taken while stopped at red lights. Unfortunately, my wife and in-laws were in the car and got extremely concerned about my well-being for the rest of the trip. And the people behind me weren't too pleased either.

As for taking a roadside nap...senior year of college, after driving up to NYC at midnight to eat at a 24 hour Korean with my roomies, I couldn't make the trip back without a nap on the side of the NJ turnpike.

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on Save GM!]]> Thank goodness someone went ahead and made that "unofficial Jalop cafe press store" we all wanted.

Too bad "Save the Enzos" was not the debut product.

No, just out to lunch! Though my Jalop-surfing has been greatly curtailed over the past few months...got to keep my little ad agency going, you know.

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on What Kind Of Car Is President-Elect Barack Obama?]]> I'm surprised by wave of negativity I'm reading here, are you all bitter people clinging to their cars....

<![CDATA[Al Navarro commented on What Kind Of Car Is President-Elect Barack Obama?]]> Full disclosure: I voted for him, and we have two Hondas.

If we were to "carsonify" (I stake a claim to having invented this word, just now) the President-elect, I might say he's a Honda of some sort. Mostly because he offers the average American a nice alternative to the usual domestic crap. Yes, I said that, I think that by and large the output of the American car carmakers is crap. And yes, last time I checked, Honda had a huge plant employing American workers in Ohio.

I will say that McCain's speech was very classy, he went out like a champ. I only wish the Big 3 could follow suit.
